Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of diffusion-weighted (DW) magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) for determining the originating nerve of parapharyngeal schwannomas preoperatively.
Methods: Six patients who underwent DW-MRN preoperatively for a parapharyngeal schwannoma were studied. Prediction of the originating nerve was performed. With the conventional method, a tumor showing "separation" between the internal jugular vein and carotid artery was determined to originate from the vagus nerve, with "no separation" from the sympathetic chain. With DW-MRN, the relationships between the vagus nerve and sympathetic chain to the tumor were characterized as "connected" or "dislocated." A nerve connected to the tumor was determined as the origin.
Results: Surgeries revealed that the origins included 1 vagus nerve and 5 sympathetic chains. Using a conventional method, all 6 cases were diagnosed correctly, whereas DW-MRN successfully predicted only 4 cases with a sympathetic chain origin.
Conclusions: The DW-MRN is a feasible approach for determining an originating nerve.

TSPX is an X-linked tumor suppressor that was initially identified in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines. However, its expression patterns and downstream mechanisms in NSCLC remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the functions of TSPX in NSCLC by identifying its potential downstream targets and their correlation with clinical outcomes.

Background/objectives: Intraneural tumors (INTs) pose a diagnostic challenge, owing to their varied origins within nerve fascicles and their wide spectrum, which includes both benign and malignant forms. Accurate diagnosis and management of these tumors depends upon the skills of the radiologist in identifying key imaging features and correlating them with the patient's clinical symptoms and examination findings.
Methods: This comprehensive review systematically analyzes the various imaging features in the diagnosis of intraneural tumors, ranging from basic MR to advanced MR imaging techniques such as MR neurography (MRN), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI.

Introduction: The aim of our study was to describe a new anteromedial approach that allows exposure of the anteromedial facet of the coronoid process and to characterize the position of the median nerve's motor branches relative to this approach in relation to elbow positioning.
Material And Methods: We performed 16 anteromedial approaches on fresh anatomical specimens. The minimum distance between the medial edge of the trochlea and the second branch of the median nerve was measured in three elbow positions: forearm in supination with the elbow extended, forearm in pronation with the elbow extended, and forearm in supination with the elbow flexed at 90 °.

DICER1-associated sarcoma is an emerging entity, defined by either somatic or germline dicer 1, ribonuclease III (DICER1) mutations and sharing characteristic morphologic features irrespective of the site of origin. In addition to the DICER1 driver mutation, concurrent genomic alterations, including tumor protein 53 (TP53) inactivation and RAS pathway activation, are frequently detected. Tumors that morphologically resemble malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) have rarely been reported among DICER1 sarcomas and often pose diagnostic challenges.

Objective: To identify the sonomorphological appearance and to measure the thickness of the piriformis muscle (PM) and the proximal portion of the sacral nerve roots S1-S3 in healthy premenopausal women.
Materials And Methods: This prospective multicentric observational study included a consecutive series of women undergoing transvaginal sonography (TVS) at two tertiary gynecological referral centers. Standardized assessment of the pelvic organs was performed followed by an attempt to visualize the right and left PM and sacral nerve roots S1-S3 at their origin in proximity to the sacral neuroforamen.
