Introduction: Oncolytic herpes simplex viruses (oHSVs) are a type of biotherapeutic utilized in cancer therapy due to their ability to selectively infect and destroy tumor cells without harming healthy cells. We sought to investigate the functional genomic response and altered metabolic pathways of human cancer cells to oHSV-1 infection and to elucidate the influence of these responses on the relationship between the virus and the cancer cells.
Methods: Two datasets containing gene expression profiles of tumor cells infected with oHSV-1 (G207) and non-infected cells from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database were processed and normalized using the R software.

Improving the content and physicochemical properties of soluble dietary fiber (SDF) in wheat bran (WB) is conducive to enhancing the palatability and processing adaptability of bran-containing products. In this study, induced electric field (IEF) was employed for the modification of WB. The IEF modification conditions were optimized, and the effects on the structural and physicochemical properties of WB and its SDF were evaluated.

In order to the antifungal activity of chitosan (CS) and to obtain a better natural bio-antimicrobial agent, CS was modified with acrylpimaric acid (APA). The grafting sites of APA on CS were controlled by adjusting the reaction time and the ratio of reactants to obtain APA grafted with CS C-NH (NCSAA) and C-OH (CSAA). Intermediates to protect C-NH (PMCSAA) and final sample derivatives (PCSAA) were prepared using phthalic anhydride.

In this study, we adopted the synergistic modification technology of hydrodynamic cavitation and snail enzyme, to improve the yield and activity of soluble dietary fibers (SDFs) of rice husk. The physicochemical properties, structural changes, and inhibition of α-glucosidase and α-amylase of SDFs were examined in vitro. This synergistic treatment significantly increased the yield of SDFs to 18.
