Interstitial lung disease (ILD) consists of a group of immune-mediated disorders that can cause inflammation and progressive fibrosis of the lungs, representing an area of unmet medical need given the lack of disease-modifying therapies and toxicities associated with current treatment options. Tissue-specific splice variants (SVs) of human aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (aaRSs) are catalytic nulls thought to confer regulatory functions. One example from human histidyl-tRNA synthetase (HARS), termed HARS because the splicing event resulted in a protein encompassing the WHEP-TRS domain of HARS (a structurally conserved domain found in multiple aaRSs), is enriched in human lung and up-regulated by inflammatory cytokines in lung and immune cells.

Objective: This retrospective study aimed to determine the prevalence of progression in fibrotic interstitial lung disease (ILD) and the findings at diagnosis most associated with progression after two years of follow-up in a large Brazilian cohort.
Methods: This was a retrospective multicenter observational study in Brazil. Progression was defined after two years of follow-up.

Purpose: Pseudomembranous Aspergillus tracheobronchitis (PMATB), an uncommon clinical form of invasive aspergillosis, is mainly occurs in patients who are moderate to severely immunocompromised. There are some case reports of immunocompetent individuals developing invasive aspergillosis after occupational exposure (Primarily observed in farmers, sawmill workers, waste collectors, mushroom processing workers, or those who handle grain, hay, or straw), including allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), severe asthma with fungal sensitization, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and invasive pulmonary aspergillosis. To our knowledge, there are no published case reports in the literature with PMATB as the main presentation in construction worker after occupational exposure.

Background: The interobserver agreement regarding airway-centered fibrosis (ACF), the key diagnostic feature of fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis (fHP) has not been sufficiently addressed to date. We applied digital image analysis to investigate this issue and extracted histological features of ACF to correlate with fHP diagnosis.
Methods: A total of 111 selected glass slides from 17 fHP and 30 idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) were scanned and seven expert pulmonary pathologists were tasked with digital annotation of ACF.
