Patient registries are an important instrument in medical research. Their implementation uses complex software systems to meet the wide spectrum of challenges. There is a wide range of systems available and a critical appraisal of their architecture is needed. Therefore, we developed, based on a systematic review of the literature, a checklist for patient registry software systems (CIPROS) which is organised in 67 items and 10 sections. CIPROS supports developers to assess requirements of an existing system. It also supports the reporting of patient registry software system descriptions in papers and it can be a first step to create standards for patient registry software systems.

Purpose: This study investigated epidemiologic features of patients with pancreatic cancer in Korea, according to the histologic subtypes.
Methods: The Korea Central Cancer Registry data on patients with pancreatic cancer from 1999 to 2019 were reviewed. The 101,446 patients with pancreatic cancer (C25 based on the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision) were allocated according to the following morphological codes: A, endocrine; B, carcinoma excluding cystic and mucinous; C, cystic or mucinous; D, acinar cell; and E, sarcoma and soft tissue tumor.
Introduction: Publishing medical metadata stored in case report forms (CRFs) is a prerequisite for the development of a learning health system (LHS) by fostering reuse of metadata and standardization in health research. The aim of our study was to investigate medical researchers' (MRs) willingness to share CRFs, to identify reasons for and against CRF sharing, and to determine if and under which conditions MRs might consider sharing CRF metadata via a public registry.
Methods: We examined CRF data sharing commitments for 1842 interventional trials registered on the German Clinical Trials Registry (DRKS) from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021.
