Aim: To describe the requirements, development and evaluation of a cognitive disorders and older persons' clinical and research application, outlining the conceptual and practical challenges.

Methods: A technology development methodology was used to develop a database of people being investigated for or diagnosed with cognitive disorders as well as their carers. The methodology involved phases of requirements gathering, modeling and prototype creation, and 'bench testing' the prototype with experts.

Results: This case study suggests that construction and population of a memory clinic and research database is feasible, but initial development is complex. Its utility can be evaluated to some extent and was found to be acceptable to most users.

Discussion And Conclusions: The development of a system needs to take in account existing data collection methods and other information systems used. The GreyMatters system can be considered a supplementary or complementary health record that sits alongside the main Trust information system. Integrating data from multiple systems enhances utility to clinical and research users.

Background: To gain optimal positioning to make sure the game laws are applied in uniform way, the performance of field referee must be periodically evaluated to have constantly adequate training during a match and during the competitive season. Considering that field Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test-Level 1 is frequently employed in elite team sport players to estimate maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) in field settings, the aim of this cross-sectional, gender-comparative study was to develop a new adjusted Yo-Yo-1 equation for estimating VO2max in football referees.

Methods: During off-season, 20 male (21.

Background: So-called scores are a frequently used evaluation system in clinical examinations to assess the function or limitations of a joint such as the shoulder. However, research indicates that these general scores often have limited validity for specific patient groups, such as athletes. Known as a demanding patient population, athletes have unique needs.

Background: Impairment of the visceral pleura following thoracic surgery often leads to air leaks and intrathoracic adhesions. For preventing such complications, mesothelial cell proliferation at the pleural defects can be effective. To develop new materials for pleural defects restoration, we constructed a hybrid artificial pleural tissue (H-APLT) combining polyglycolic acid (PGA) nanofiber sheets with a three-dimensional culture of mesothelial cells and fibroblasts and evaluated its therapeutic efficacy in a rat pleural defect model.

Introduction/objectives: Patients returning to the community from incarceration (ie, reentry) are at heightened risk of experiencing trauma when interacting with the healthcare system. Healthcare professionals may not recognize patients' trauma reactions or know how to effectively respond. This paper describes the development and pilot evaluation of a single-session training to prepare primary care teams to deliver trauma-informed care (TIC) to patients experiencing reentry.

Introduction Chlamydia Trachomatis: continues to be the most common bacterial infection worldwide and rates continue to increase despite long-standing control efforts. Point of care (POC) testing options may offer improvements in case finding that lead to improved control of this sexually transmitted infection (STI).

Areas Covered: This review will provide information on the three tests that have US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance and describe assays in the developmental pipeline.
