Preclinical Alzheimer's disease (AD) trials can involve multiple years of follow-up and burdensome procedures for older individuals. Optimizing the design and conduct of these trials requires input from participants and their families. Since 2020, the Alzheimer's Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC) Research Participant Advisory Board has provided input on study attributes including: participant and study partner compensation, consent language, and result communication tools.

Background: Education is a recognized modifiable dementia risk factor. To boost cognitive reserve and reduce dementia risk in Brazil's vulnerable populations, we conceived a literacy program (PROAME trial) targeting low-educated adults, aiming to explore how executive function and individual differences influence program effectiveness.
Method: We screened 130 adults, with 108 meeting enrollment criteria.

With the escalating numbers of individuals affected by neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and AD, associated challenges encompass increased burdens on individuals and families, societal and political implications and economic impacts. Integrating patient and caregiver perspectives is essential to creating comprehensive, patient-centered care models that promote well-being and resilience in the face of degenerative neurological diseases such as AD.

Background: With increased for promoting neuroplasticity in older adults through Cognitive training (CT), the study aimed to develop culturally relevant caregiver-driven model of CT for dementia called the Individualized Cognitive Augmentation Regimen for Elderly (iCARE).
Method: The study has three phases- 1. Development Phase- Included a) literature review, b) item generation, c) expert rating, d) field trial (n = 3), and e) feedback and modification.

Background: The number of people with dementia increases worldwide. Previous studies have shown that social integration and high-quality social relationships are beneficial for reducing dementia risk and improving symptoms. Our project aimed at identifying characteristics of the social environment of people with dementia (PWD) and their relevance for PWDs' wellbeing, and at determining facilitators and barriers of the PWD's social integration.
