Purpose: To evaluate the efficiency of retinal pneumopexy in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.

Methods: This clinical prospective study unrolled between november 2010-june 2012 in the Ophthalmology Department of the Military Hospital in Cluj-Napoca and Satu Mare Emergency Hospital included 20 patients (20 eyes) with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Patients were treated with retinal pneumopexy followed by laser photocoagulation.

Results: Anatomical and functional results were evaluated 1, 3, 6, 12 and 19 months after treatment. In 17 eyes out of 20, we achieved retinal reattachment and visual recovery. Three cases yelded no success, these being further treated with posterior vitrectomy.

Conclusion: Retinal pneumopexy is a minimally invasive treatment method of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with very good results in well selected cases.

Purpose: To observe the changes in peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness and peripapillary vessel densities (VD) in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) after scleral buckling (SB) by OCTA.

Methods: A total of 40 patients (40 eyes) with monocular RRD who underwent SB were included in the study, with the operated eyes (40 eyes) as the study group and the contralateral healthy eyes (40 eyes) as the control to analyse the changes in peripapillary RNFL thickness and VD before and after surgery. Data were analysed by paired samples -test or Wilcoxon signed rank sum test.

Purpose: To evaluate the anatomical and visual outcomes of patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) who received primary repair by combined pars plana vitrectomy with scleral buckling (PPV/SB) or pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) alone by using a propensity analysis.

Patients And Methods: This study was a single center retrospective observational study. Medical records of patients who underwent surgical interventions between January 2013 and December 2019 were retrospectively reviewed.

Purpose: To describe the clinical characteristics of macular holes (MH) with an intact bacillary layer.

Methods: This retrospective study analyzed the characteristics and surgical results of 23 eyes with MH and an intact bacillary layer, with or without rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD).

Results: Among the 23 eyes, 11 had only MH, and 12 had concurrent fovea-off RRD.

Purpose: To study clinical features, anatomical and visual outcomes in eyes having rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RD) as the presenting feature of acute retinal necrosis (ARN).

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of patients with ARN (active/healed) and concomitant RD at the presenting visit.

Results: The median age of patients was 36 years, with a male preponderance (9:1).
