The synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of new axially ligated indium(III) porphyrin complexes were reported. Chloroindium(III) porphyrin (TPPIn-Cl) was obtained in good yield by treating the corresponding free base with indium trichloride. The action of the different phenols on chloroderivatives (TPPIn-Cl) led to the corresponding phenolato complexes (TPPIn-X). These derivatives were characterized on the basis of mass spectrometry, (1)H-NMR, IR, and UV-visible data. The separation and isolation of these derivatives have been achieved through chromatography. The spectral properties of free base porphyrin and its corresponding metallated and axially ligated indium(III) porphyrin compounds were compared with each other. A detailed analysis of UV-Vis, (1)H-NMR, and IR suggested the transformation from free base porphyrin to indium(III) porphyrin. Besides, (13)C-NMR and fluorescence spectra were also reported and interpreted. The stability of these derivatives has also been studied through thermogravimetry. The complexes were also screened for anticancerous activities. Among all the complexes, 4-MePhO-InTPP shows highest anticancerous activity. The title complexe, TPPIn-X (where X = different phenolates), represents a five-coordinate indium(III) porphyrin complex in a square-pyramidal geometry with the phenolate anion as the axial ligand.

Over the past two decades, the application of photocatalytic reactions in organic synthesis has increased remarkably. Porphyrins, renowned for their exceptional photophysical properties, photostability, and prevalence in natural catalytic processes, are attracting significant attention as promising photocatalysts for reactions proceeding through energy transfer and one-electron transfer. In this work, we synthesized the indium(III) complex of 2-[4-(diethoxyphosphoryl)phenyl]-1-imidazo[4,5-]-5,10,15,20-tetramesitylporphyrin (InTMPIP) and explored its application as a photocatalyst for the oxidation of sulfides by dioxygen or air.

New -substituted AB-type phenothiazinyl porphyrins and ferrocenylvinyl phenothiazinyl porphyrin were synthesised by Suzuki-Miyaura and Mizoroki-Heck cross-coupling reactions, respectively. The free porphyrins were further used in the synthesis of new indium(iii) or zinc(ii) porphyrin complexes. All porphyrins exhibit red fluorescence emission in solution, a property that remains unimpaired following internalisation in ovarian A2780 cancer cells, as evidenced by fluorescence microscopy images.

Recent advances in visible light photocatalysis represent a significant stride towards sustainable catalytic chemistry. However, its successful implementation in fine chemical production remains challenging and requires careful optimization of available photocatalysts. Our work aims to structurally modify bioinspired porphyrin catalysts, addressing issues related to their laborious synthesis and low solubility, with the goal of increasing their efficiency and developing reusable catalytic systems.

The luminescent and photophysical properties of the etioporphyrin-I complex with indium(III) chloride, InCl-EtioP-I were experimentally studied at room and liquid nitrogen temperatures in pure and mixed toluene solutions. At 77 K, in a 1:2 mixture of toluene with diethyl ether, the quantum yield of phosphorescence reaches 10.2%, while the duration of phosphorescence is 17 ms.

A quartz crystal adsorbent coated with 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methylphenyl) porphyrin was used to examine the complexation phenomenon of three metallic ions [aluminum(III), iron(III) and indium(III)]. The aim is to select the appropriate adsorbate for metalloporphyrin fabrication. The equilibrium adsorption isotherms of tetrakis(4-methylphenyl) porphyrin were performed at four temperatures (from 300 to 330 K) through the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) method.
