Background: Gastric mucosal heterotopia (GMH) is a rare, typically asymptomatic condition characterized by ectopic gastric mucosa in tissues outside the stomach. However, it can lead to severe complications, including small intestinal perforation. This case report highlights the unique clinical presentation of GMH-induced recurrent small intestinal perforations, which has been rarely documented.

This study investigated the preventive and protective effects of Portulaca oleracea polysaccharides (PP) on Acute liver injury (ALI) in mice and its regulatory effects on intestinal microorganisms, and explored the underlying protective mechanisms. Initially, PP was administered, and then CCl4 was used to induce the mouse ALI model. Serum and liver markers were measured by ELISA.

Background: Despite global rotavirus vaccination efforts, rotavirus remains a leading cause of childhood deaths from acute gastroenteritis. Post-vaccination studies in India, particularly in eastern India, have been limited, despite high prevalence of rotavirus in this region prior to vaccine introduction. This study was conducted to assess the impact of rotavirus vaccine on the epidemiology of rotavirus and other enteric viruses, as well as the changes in the diversity of rotavirus strains among children (≤5 years) with acute gastroenteritis.
