The model of melamine molecules ordering into planar honeycomb and closed packed phases is proposed. To account for the "side-to-side" melamine-melamine molecular interactions, we use the version of the antiferromagnetic Blume-Capel model with some exclusions. The model is solved by Monte Carlo calculations on a triangular lattice, a slightly rescaled version of Au(111) and Ag(111) lattices on which the main experimental data are obtained. The ordered phases are formed when mutual distance between the centers of molecules is within sixth and seventh nearest neighbor distances of rescaled substrate lattice. We obtain the ground state phase diagram with honeycomb and three closed-packed phases and density-temperature phase diagram with three pure phases (gas, honeycomb, and close-packed) and their two-phase coexistences.

The nitrogen-rich metal-organic framework (MOF) , featuring a melamine (MA) functional group, enables efficient one-step CH purification and methanol-to-olefins (MTO) product separation. At 298 K, its adsorption capacity follows the order CH > CH > CH > CH. Breakthrough experiments showed that produced pure CH from C mixtures with a productivity of 22.

Melamine, its analogues, and aromatic amines (AAs) were commonly detected in a previous study of pregnant women in the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Cohort. While these chemicals have identified toxicities, little is known about their influences on fetal development. We measured these chemicals in gestational urine samples in 3 ECHO cohort sites to assess associations with birth outcomes (n = 1,231).

In this work, we elucidate the electronic charge redistributions that occur within the cyanuric acid (CA) and melamine (M) molecules upon formation of the triple H-bond between the imide group of CA and the diaminopyridine group of M. To achieve this, we investigated 2D H-bonded assemblies of M, CA and CA*M grown on the Au(111) surface, using X-ray photoemission (XPS) and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopies. Compared to the homomolecular networks, the spectra of the mixed sample reveal core level shifts in opposite directions for CA and M, indicating a nearly complementary charge accumulation on the CA molecule and a charge depletion on the M molecule.

Humans may inevitably be exposed to nanoplastics (NPls) through ingestion. The size of NPls significantly influences their absorption efficiency, so understanding behaviors of NPls during digestion is vital for risk assessment. In this study, fluorescent polystyrene (PS) and melamine-formaldehyde resin (MF) NPls were characterized by different techniques after the in vitro digestion process both with and without a standard food model, or with and without pH adjustment in the absence of the proteins.

The well-designed bamboo charcoal (BC) composite Fe-g-CN/BC with multi-active sites of FeO, FeN, and g-CN, was fabricated in-situ by calcining Fe-melamine loaded bamboo charcoal (Fe-Me-BC) under nitrogen atmosphere. The as-synthesized Fe-g-CN/BC(550) exhibited a mesoporous structure with a large specific surface area of 108.23 m/g.
