The radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has been widely adopted and being deployed as a dominant identification technology in a health care domain such as medical information authentication, patient tracking, blood transfusion medicine, etc. With more and more stringent security and privacy requirements to RFID based authentication schemes, elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) based RFID authentication schemes have been proposed to meet the requirements. However, many recently published ECC based RFID authentication schemes have serious security weaknesses. In this paper, we propose a new ECC based RFID authentication integrated with an ID verifier transfer protocol that overcomes the weaknesses of the existing schemes. A comprehensive security analysis has been conducted to show strong security properties that are provided from the proposed authentication scheme. Moreover, the performance of the proposed authentication scheme is analyzed in terms of computational cost, communicational cost, and storage requirement.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze the antimicrobial resistance profiles, clinical characteristics and risk factors of bacteremia caused by complex (ECC) strains.
Methods: We retrospectively collected clinical data from patients diagnosed with ECC bacteremia between 2013 and 2022 in a tertiary hospital in Jiangsu. Subgroup analyses were performed based on multidrug resistance (MDR), nosocomial acquisition, polymicrobial bacteremia, and mortality.

. Lymph Node Ratio (LNR) is increasingly recognized as an important prognostic factor in various cancer types, with the potential to enhance patient stratification for intrahepatic (ICC) and extrahepatic (ECC) cholangiocarcinoma. The study aimed to assess the impact of LNR on survival in surgically resected patients with ICC and ECC.

The design of functional artificial cells involves compartmentalizing biochemical processes to mimic cellular organization. To emulate the complex chemical systems in biological cells, it is necessary to incorporate an increasing number of cellular functions into single compartments. Artificial organelles that spatially segregate reactions inside artificial cells will be beneficial in this context by rectifying biochemical pathways.

Background: Molecular testing is recommended to patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) because those who receive targeted therapy have better prognosis than patients who don't. However, recent studies have raised concerns that first-line companion diagnostic testing at diagnosis may have lower detection rates than previously reported. Therefore, we sought to determine the utility of comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) tests in NSCLC by analyzing a nation-wide database.
