Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory dermatologic condition that can often be disfiguring with significant negative impact on patients' quality of life. Sanrosa (brimonidine tartate) is a novel therapeutic agent targeting the facial flushing and erythema of rosacea through its α₂ adrenergic receptor agonist activity. The goal of this article is to discuss current treatment options for rosacea and the properties of brimonidine tartate as well as the evidence surrounding its efficacy and safety profile.

Growth hormone (GH) secretion by the pituitary is regulated by stimulatory and inhibitory pathways such as growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) and somatostatin, respectively, being also modulated by different neurotransmitters acting at the hypothalamic/pituitary level. The pineal gland hormone melatonin regulates GH secretion in many mammals, including humans, although its role in modulating GH secretion has been debated. We describe the case of a young woman chronically taking melatonin for sleep disturbances, referring to her general practitioner for flushing that appeared just after starting melatonin intake.

Onsite non-potable water reuse systems (ONWS) are decentralized systems that treat and repurpose locally collected waters ( greywater or combined wastewater) for uses such as irrigation and flushing toilets. To ensure that treatment is meeting risk benchmarks, it is necessary to monitor the efficacy of pathogen removal. However, accurate assessment of pathogen reduction is hampered by their sporadic and low occurrence rates in source waters and concentrations in treated water that are generally below measurement detection limits.

Background: Lenacapavir is a highly potent first-in-class inhibitor of HIV-1 capsid approved for the treatment of heavily treatment-experienced (HTE) people with HIV-1 (PWH) harboring multidrug resistant (MDR) virus, in combination with an optimized background regimen (OBR). Resistance analyses conducted after 2 years of lenacapavir treatment in the phase 2/3 CAPELLA study are described.
Methods: CAPELLA enrolled viremic HTE PWH with resistance to 2 or more drugs per class in at least 3 of the 4 main drug classes.
Infections with bacteria of the genus Pasteurella have increased in occurrence in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) farms in Norway since 2018. This increase coincides with increased use of non-medicinal treatments against the parasitic salmon louse, Lepeophtheirus salmonis, in the farms. Here, we analysed the statistical association between the use of non-medicinal delousing methods and pasteurellosis in salmon farming in western Norway, from 2018 to 2023.

To enhance the safety of coal mining operations and improve the efficiency of gas extraction, hydraulic flushing technology has been widely used in low permeability coal seams. This study aims to investigate the mechanism of hydraulic flushing by conducting experiments focusing on four aspects: sample strength, punching pressure, punching position and vibration direction. The results show that an increase in hydraulic flushing pressure leads to a deeper impact groove, whereas higher sample strength results in a shallower groove.
