New insight on the mycorrhizal fungus-host association, expected to emerge from combining dendrochronology, wood anatomy and mycology, may help to understanding better and disentangle biotic, abiotic, and combined edaphic factors of the mutualistic relation between ectomycorrhizal fungi and their perennial partners.

The Diabetes and Ramadan Risk Calculator, developed in 2021, is a pivotal tool for assessing fasting-related risks among patients with diabetes. This ground-breaking innovation offers a quantitative assessment of risk scores during fasting, revolutionizing the landscape of diabetes management during Ramadan. Many components assessed by the calculator are amenable to modification, presenting an opportunity for year-round intervention to mitigate risk scores and subsequent fasting risks.

In this editorial, we outline how the disability rights movement has been instrumental to the development of participatory approaches, before giving consideration to some of the debates and criticisms associated with participatory research in practice. We summarise the contributions offered by the studies within this issue and propose four areas of consideration, drawn from the body of included research, to inform future developments.

Background: Existing research has shown that those ageing with severe mental illness face significant challenges in daily life. Attendance at community-based day centres (DCs) is offered to support daily structure and break isolation. The development of ground-breaking Survival Motor Neuron (SMN) replacement strategies has revolutionized the field of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) research. However, the limitations of these therapies have now become evident, highlighting the need for the development of complementary targets beyond SMN replacement. To address these challenges, here we explored, in in vitro and in vivo disease models, Stathmin-2 (STMN2), a neuronal microtubule regulator implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), as a novel SMN-independent target for SMA therapy.

Green technology innovation (GTI) breaks the vicious cycle of "economic development-environmental pollution," mitigating the supply chain carbon emissions. Previous research focused on exploring supply chain GTI decision-making in the discrete strategy space and ignored the effect of stochastic factors. This paper, grounded in the classical evolutionary game theory, explores the interaction mechanism of supply chain GTI decision-making between suppliers and manufacturers under stochastic interferences and in the continuous strategy space.
