For the first time, a separate Czech guideline focuses exclusively on hepatitis D virus (HDV) infection. Until recently, HDV infection was only mentioned in guidelines concerning hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, in chapters on HBV/HDV co-infection. The guideline is based on the July 2023 recommendations from the European Association for the Study of the Liver.

Blood transfusion is identified as a potential route for the transmission of these viruses, necessitating effective screening strategies for blood donors. The aim of this study was to assess the significance of nucleic acid testing (NAT) in detecting HBV and HCV infections among blood donors who initially tested negative in serological tests.

Background: Synthetic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an innovative MRI technology that enables the acquisition of multiple quantitative values, including T1 and T2 values, proton density, and myelin volume, in a single scan. Although the usefulness of myelin measurement with synthetic MRI has been reported for assessing several diseases, investigations in patients with stroke have not been reported. We aimed to explore the utility of myelin quantification using synthetic MRI in predicting outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

This study systematically retrieved the clinical studies in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF) with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and employed evidence mapping to summarize the overall research status and deficiencies of TCM in treating IPF. CNKI, VIP, SinoMed, Wanfang, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and EMbase were searched for the relevant studies published from inception to February 20, 2024. The distribution characteristics of the evidence were analyzed and presented through charts combined with words.

SARS-CoV-2 is the cause of mild to severe acute respiratory disease that led to significant loss of human lives worldwide between 2019 and 2022. The virus has been detected in various animals including cats and dogs making it a major public health concern and a One Health issue. In this study, conjunctival and pharyngeal swabs (n = 350) and serum samples (n = 350) were collected between July and December 2020 from cats that were housed in an animal shelter and tested for the infection of SARS-CoV-2 using real time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) that targeted the N1 and N2 genes, and a SARS-CoV-2 surrogate virus neutralization Test (sVNT), respectively.
