Despite its demonstrated effectiveness, colorectal cancer (CRC) testing is suboptimal, particularly in vulnerable populations such as those who are publicly insured. Prior studies provide an incomplete picture of the importance of the intersection of multilevel factors affecting CRC testing across heterogeneous geographic regions where vulnerable populations live. We examined CRC testing across regions of North Carolina by using population-based Medicare and Medicaid claims data from disabled individuals who turned 50 years of age during 2003-2008. We estimated multilevel models to examine predictors of CRC testing, including distance to the nearest endoscopy facility, county-level endoscopy procedural rates, and demographic and community contextual factors. Less than 50% of eligible individuals had evidence of CRC testing; men, African-Americans, Medicaid beneficiaries, and those living furthest away from endoscopy facilities had significantly lower odds of CRC testing, with significant regional variation. These results can help prioritize intervention strategies to improve CRC testing among publicly insured, disabled populations.

Aim: To assess recent colonoscopies and CT scans in conjunction with the feacal immunochemical test (FIT) for possibly downgrading urgent suspected cancer (USC) referrals.
Methods: A retrospective single-centre study was conducted, including all USC referrals for colonoscopy in 2022, excluding anal cancers. The CT and colonoscopy findings for a two-year period prior to the referral, along with the FIT result (if done), were noted.

Background: Although separate lines of research indicated a moderating role of sex in both sleep-wake disruption and in the interindividual vulnerability to Alzheimer's disease (AD)-related processes, the quantification of sex differences in the interplay between sleep-wake dysregulation and AD pathology remains critically overlooked. Here, we examined sex-specific associations between circadian rest-activity patterns and AD-related pathophysiological processes across the adult lifespan.
Methods: Ninety-two cognitively unimpaired adults (mean age = 59.

Background: The colorectal cancer mortality rate in China has exceeded that in many developing countries and is expected to further increase owing to multiple factors, including the aging population. However, the optimal policy for colorectal cancer screening is unknown.
Methods: We synthesized the most up-to-date data using a 12-state Markov model populated with a cohort of Chinese men and women born during 1949-1988, and evaluated 16 conventional and 40 risk-tailored schemes for colorectal cancer screening, considering possible combinations of age (starting at 40 + years and ending at 75 years), frequency, and strategy (standard colonoscopy, fecal immunochemical testing with colonoscopy if positive, or risk-tailored).
Background: Cancer remains a leading cause of mortality worldwide. A non-invasive screening solution was required for early diagnosis of cancer. Multi-cancer early detection (MCED) tests have been considered to address the challenge by simultaneously identifying multiple types of cancer within a single test using minimally invasive blood samples.

Purpose: To investigate the impacts of psychoeducational interventions in adjusting the physical and psychological statuses of caregivers of CRC patients.
Methods: Nine electronic databases, including Medline, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL Complete, CNKI, Wan Fang Database, VIP Database, and CBM, were searched to identify eligible randomized controlled trials from January 2000 to July 2023. From 1498 articles, 9 articles that met the inclusion criteria were identified and systematically analyzed.
