The aim of this study was to evaluate radiation dose in patients undergoing three-dimensional rotation angiography (3DRA) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) using a flat panel detector (FPD). Radiation doses were measured for angiography equipment using small silicon-photodiode dosimeters that were implanted in various positions in tissues and organs within an anthropomorphic phantom of a standard Japanese adult male. Output signals from the dosimeters were read out on a computer, from which organ and effective doses were calculated according to guidelines published in International Commission on Radiological Protection Publication 103. Lens doses and effective doses obtained in this study were 1.6 mGy and 0.13 mSv for 3DRA, 20 mGy and 1.7 mSv for CBCT (normal mode). 3DRA provided substantial lens doses and effective dose reduction, which were 8% of the doses in CBCT (normal mode).

Objective: This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided coronary intravascular lithotripsy and rotational atherectomy in treating severe coronary artery calcification.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 60 patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention at the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from October 2022 to August 2023 was conducted. The patients were divided into two groups: 30 received IVUS-guided coronary intravascular lithotripsy and 30 underwent IVUS-guided rotational atherectomy.

Background: 3DRA offers visualization of the entire topography in the chest and may enhance safety and reduce the risk for complications in PPVI through improved pre-procedural planning and per-procedural guidance.
Methods: All PPVI procedures with the use of 3DRA performed between August 2011 and December 2022 were reviewed.

An 81-year-old man with coronary artery bypass grafting surgery due to 3-vessel disease 17 years previously complained of worsening angina. Coronary angiography (CAG) revealed a diseased saphenous vein graft (SVG) and a probable functional occlusion in the mid left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) concomitant with calcified severe stenosis in the left main (LM)-proximal LAD, and patent right internal thoracic artery (RITA)-LAD graft.
