This paper analyzes the recently epidemic status of schistosomiasis, the change of natural and social factors, and field survey and evaluation data of schistosomiasis in Ya'an City after Lushan Earthquake on April 20, 2013, and proposes that it is necessary to strengthen the conventional schistosomiasis control measures, the control of exogenous infection sources, the control of Oncomelania hupensis snails and health education for ensuring no major epidemics after the disaster. This paper also recommends the direction and suggestions for future schistosomiasis control in Ya' an City.

Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy, particularly the use of platinum-based compounds and taxanes, is pivotal in the treatment of epithelial-derived tumors, such as cervical cancer and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC); however, resistance remains a significant challenge. Utilizing Mendelian randomization (MR) with pharmacogenomics offers a novel approach to understanding the genetic underpinnings of drug responses, thereby aiding in personalized treatment.
Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis revealed a shared cellular subpopulation of CD8 + T effector memory (CD8 + TEM) cells that are pivotal in mediating chemotherapy resistance in ESCC and cervical cancer.

Background: Frailty is a common geriatric syndrome worldwide, and its early identification and intervention have important clinical significance. Resistance training has been recommended as an efficient means to combat loss of muscle strength and mass; however, it is often not a prioritized option for older adults. Tai chi is a well-known traditional Chinese exercise that has a beneficial impact on physical performance, balance ability, metabolism, and immune function.

Objective: The psychological and social challenges of an adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer diagnosis often transcend physical health, impacting one's social network during a time when peer connections may be most crucial for support. The current study examines adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors' perspectives on how cancer impacts their thoughts and behaviors toward forming new peer relationships.
Methods: Thirty-five YA survivors (Mean age = 33 ± 5.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effect of axial elongation on anterior scleral thickness (AST) in myopia.
Methods: The convenience sampling method was used to select 122 patients without ocular or systemic diseases affecting ametropia in Ya'an People's Hospital between March 2020 and January 2022. According to the diopter and axial length (AL), the patients were divided into an emmetropia group (32 cases), a low-to-moderate myopia group (40 cases), and a high myopia group (40 cases).

Studying the spatial relationship and driving forces between grain production and economic development in China can assist in the coordinated development of economic growth and grain production in both China and other developing countries. Based on panel data from 2000 to 2019 covering 2018 county-level units in China, this study comprehensively investigated the spatial distribution, spatial differences, dynamic evolution of distribution, and driving factors of China's county-level spatial deviation index of grain and economy (SDIGE) using methods such as the standard deviation ellipse method, the three-stage nested decomposition of Theil index, kernel density estimation, and geographically weighted regression (GWR) model. The results show that (1) from 2000 to 2019, China's SDIGE showed a development trend of "up-down-up," and the highest SDIGE was in the northeast region, the lowest in the east region, and the spatial pattern of "high in the northeast-low in the east coast" was increasingly prominent.
