Under cultivation of rat peritoneal mesothelial cells in vitro in them there are appeared signs of the genomic instability, evidencing their transformation: increasing of the number of both binucleated cells with micronuclei and polynuclear cells and the increase of sizes and polymorphism. Asbestos greatly accelerates this process. Asbestos-induced carcinogenesis in vivo is accompanied in pleural mesothelium in the rats there also revealed with similar signs of genomic instability and cellular transformation.

DNA methylation is recognized as an early event in cancer initiation and progression. This review aimed to compare the methylation status of promoter regions in selected genes across different histological subtypes of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, and the rare but highly aggressive large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC). A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the PubMed database until August 17, 2024, using standardized keywords to identify reports on promoter methylation in NSCLC.

Gastric cancer (GC), a prevalent malignancy worldwide, encompasses a multitude of biological processes in its progression. Recently, ferroptosis, a novel mode of cell demise, has become a focal point in cancer research. The microenvironment of gastric cancer is composed of diverse cell populations, yet the specific gene expression profiles and their association with ferroptosis are not well understood.

Background: Skeletal dysplasia (SD) represents a series of highly heterogeneous congenital genetic diseases affecting the human skeletal system. Refined genetic diagnosis is helpful for the accurate diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of SDs.
Materials And Methods: In this study, we recruited 26 cases of SD and analyzed them with a designed sequential genetic detection.

Background: Developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) are a heterogeneous group of brain disorders. Variants in the Rho-related BTB domain-containing 2 gene (RHOBTB2) can lead to DEE64, which is characterized by early-onset epilepsy, varying degrees of motor developmental delay and intellectual disability, microcephaly, and movement disorders. More than half of the variants are located at Arg483 and Arg511 within the BTB domain; however, the underlying mechanism of action of these hotspot variants remains unexplored.

Background: Research has shown that genetic mutations play an important role in the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). However, the genes that influence the prognosis and immunotherapy of lung cancer patients have not yet been thoroughly studied. In this study, data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Program and other databases were used to identify the survival-related genes in LUAD.
