Introduction: Undernutrition in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) remains a leading public health challenge. It accounts for one-third of the under-five mortality rate in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). This study applied the composite index of anthropometric failure (CIAF) to assess the prevalence of various standalone and coexisting forms of undernutrition and identify associated risk factors.

With the rapid development of AI algorithms and computational power, object recognition based on deep learning frameworks has become a major research direction in computer vision. UAVs equipped with object detection systems are increasingly used in fields like smart transportation, disaster warning, and emergency rescue. However, due to factors such as the environment, lighting, altitude, and angle, UAV images face challenges like small object sizes, high object density, and significant background interference, making object detection tasks difficult.

The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) regulates gene expression through two primary mechanisms: as a growth factor in the nucleus, where it translocates upon binding its ligand, or via its intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity in the cytosol, where it modulates key signaling pathways such as RAS/MYC, PI3K, PLCγ, and STAT3. During tumorigenesis, these pathways become deregulated, leading to uncontrolled proliferation, enhanced migratory and metastatic capabilities, evasion of programmed cell death, and resistance to chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The and oncogenes are pivotal in tumorigenesis, driving processes such as resistance to apoptosis, replicative immortality, cellular invasion and metastasis, and metabolic reprogramming.

Food insecurity (FI) is associated with several known hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk factors, but few studies have directly examined FI in association with HCC risk. We aimed to investigate whether county-level FI is associated with HCC risk. We used data from 21 registries in the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database to obtain county-level counts of HCC cases from 2018 to 2021.

Background: Health inequities begin before birth and are influenced by pregnancy conditions, race/ethnicity, social class, and environment. Research indicates that, in the United States, Black women are significantly more likely to have low-birth-weight babies compared to White women. Interestingly, Hispanic women in the United States do not experience this birth weight inequity.
