The complex and variable anatomy of complex double outlet right ventricle makes it imperative to understand the spatial anatomic structures to determine whether it is feasible to repair the anomaly in a biventricular or univentricular fashion. Medications for smoking cessation can double quit rates but are underused in primary care. This qualitative study aimed to explore: (1) patients' perspectives regarding having their general practitioner (GP) use a proactive approach to smoking cessation treatment using an encounter decision aid (DA), and (2) their expectations regarding their GP's role. Background: The comorbidity of coronary artery disease (CAD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) presents significant challenges in clinical management, particularly regarding glycemic control. The clinical management of CAD complicated by T2DM requires coordinated glycemic control, as poor management can exacerbate cardiovascular risks and increase morbidity and mortality. While endocrinologists traditionally manage diabetes, cardiologists are increasingly involved due to the cardiovascular risks associated with poor glycemic control.

Background Cardio-cerebral infarction (CCI) belongs to an area of growing interest within cerebrovascular medicine as it refers to the concurrence of acute ischaemic stroke (AIS) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) usually within 72 hours. A scenario where both the heart and brain sustain a catastrophic ischaemic insult can be devastating. We describe the incidence, treatment, and outcomes of CCI patients from a North London Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) over two years and propose a potential treatment algorithm for the treatment of CCI.
