The article presents the particulars of hydrogen content in electrolysis oxygen produced aboard the ISS Russian segment by oxygen generator "Elektron-VM" (SGK) for crew breathing. Hydrogen content was estimated as in the course of SGK operation in the ISS RS, so during the ground life tests. According to the investigation of hydrogen sources, the primary path of H2 appearance in oxygen is its diffusion through the porous diaphragm separating the electrolytic-cell cathode and anode chambers. Effectiveness of hydrogen oxidation in the SGK reheating unit was evaluated.

Effect of Ph on the Physicochemical Properties of a Cassava Peel Starch Biopolymer.

Cell Physiol Biochem

January 2025

Carrera de Agroindustria, Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí Manuel Félix López, ESPAM-MFL, Calceta. 130250, Ecuador.

Background/aims: This study investigates how pH levels affect the characteristics of biopolymer films manufactured from cassava peel starch. Cassava peel starch's abundance and biodegradability make it a promising candidate for sustainable packaging. The study seeks to improve film qualities such as thickness, density, moisture content, solubility, and optical properties by altering pH levels.

Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) is an auxin plant growth regulator (PGR) and widely used to regulate the growth process of plants. As excessive NAA enter the environment, it damages the ecological environment and endangers human life and health. Layered bimetallic hydroxides (LDHs) are widely used for the adsorption of pollutants due to their large surface area and excellent structural properties.

β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) enhances functional properties by forming inclusion complexes (ICs). This study employed β-CD to form IC with fatty acid ethyl ester (FAEE) for concentrating α-Linolenic acid ethyl ester (ALAEE) from flaxseed oil FAEE, and investigated the interaction mechanisms between β-CD and ALAEE. Using the single-factor method, optimal inclusion conditions yielded an inclusion rate of 61.

The development of high-performance electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in different pH conditionsis pivotal in producing green hydrogen, but remains challenging. Herein, we regulate the p-d orbitals hybridization between B and Pt for effective and durable HER at all pH ranges by controlling the inserted B atom. Consequently, the optimized B-doped Pt catalysts with 20 at.

Background: Fruits are sources of bioactive compounds such as phenolics that bring health benefits to consumers. The addition of fruit products and microorganisms with probiotic potential in fermented goat milk can facilitate the acquisition of these benefits through diet. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of incorporating a mixture of ingredients from jaboticaba (), jambolana (), and mandacaru () fruits on fermentation parameters (pH, titratable acidity, viability of the native culture CNPC003 and the starter culture), associated with pigmentation (phenolic compound content and color) through experimental mixture design.
