Microorganisms play a major role in initiation and perpetuation of pulpal and periapical diseases. Therefore, elimination of the microorganisms present in the root canal system is the fundamental objective of endodontic treatment. The use of mechanical debridement, chemical irrigation or other antimicrobial protocols and intra-canal medicaments are critical to attain this goal. The aim of this article was to review the antimicrobial agents and their properties in endodontics.

Objectives: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize evidence and determine the association between IE and dental procedures, including invasive and non-invasive procedures.
Methods: We conducted a systematic search of PubMed, Google Scholar, and Cochrane databases for studies involving procedures such as tooth extraction, scaling, endodontic treatment, oral surgery, and periodontal treatment involving individuals aged ≥15 years. The primary outcome was the incidence of IE following these procedures.

Radix entomolaris (RE) characterized by an extra root in mandibular molars is a rare phenotype. When this condition coincides with complex root canal curvatures or S-shaped canals, root canal therapy (RCT) challenges arise. The present study presents three cases of RE along with complex root curvatures.

In this case study, an all-ceramic (Emax) crown and a post and core restoration are used to successfully treat external inflammatory root resorption (EIRR) in a mandibular molar. A 21-year-old male patient was diagnosed with EIRR and hypercementosis after presenting with pain and significant damage to his lower right first molar. The patient chose a post and core restoration over extraction and implant placement due to budgetary constraints.

Background: Lip behaviors can lead to maxillofacial developmental disorders such as anterior open bite, posterior crossbite, increased overjet, and a higher risk of developing a Class II malocclusion. However, lip-sucking, a behavior often underreported and overlooked, may adversely affect the periodontal health of permanent teeth in adolescents under extreme conditions if not promptly identified and managed.
Case Presentation: We report a unique case of an 11-year-old boy with a severe periodontal-endodontic lesion on tooth 32, caused by prolonged, high-frequency, and high-intensity lip sucking.
