- The study compared three techniques for ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) in patients who had undergone Roux-en-Y gastric bypass: enteroscopy-assisted (EA-ERCP), laparoscopy-assisted (LA-ERCP), and endoscopic ultrasound-directed (EDGE).
- 67 studies were analyzed, showing that EDGE had the highest technical success rate at 96%, followed by LA-ERCP at 93%, and EA-ERCP at 77%, with significant differences between EA-ERCP and the other methods.
- The overall rates of adverse events were similar across all techniques, suggesting that EDGE and LA-ERCP are both effective and as safe

Introduction: A technical qualification system was established by the Japanese Society of Endoscopic Surgery in 2004, and its effectiveness in low anterior resection (LAR) has been reported. We herein performed a subgroup analysis of the effectiveness of the participation of technically qualified surgeons in laparoscopy-assisted high anterior resection (HAR), a procedure used for the technical qualification of surgeons.
Methods: The EnSSURE study enrolled 3188 patients who underwent laparoscopic rectal resection for rectal cancer between January 2014 and December 2016 at 56 Japanese hospitals.

An abdominal computed tomography scan revealed wall thickening of the small intestine, a dilated oral intestinal tract, swollen intra-abdominal lymph nodes, and splenomegaly. Moreover, the soluble interleukin-2 receptor level was increased at 2,120 U/mL.
