The anti arthritic and anti inflammatory activity of NN-32, a cytotoxic protein from Indian spectacle cobra snake (Naja naja) venom has been studied in Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA) induced arthritis and carrageenan induced anti inflammatory model. NN-32 treatment showed significant decrease in physical and urinary parameters, serum enzymes, serum cytokines levels as compared to arthritic control group of rats. NN-32 treatment recovered carrageenan induced inflammation as compared to control group of rats. The findings showed that the cytotoxic protein NN-32 shares anti arthritic and anti inflammatory activity and thus NN-32 may target complex pathophysiological processes like cancer- arthritis-inflammation.

We previously documented successful resolution of skeletal and dental disease in the infantile and late-onset murine models of hypophosphatasia (HPP), with a single injection of an adeno-associated serotype 8 vector encoding mineral-targeted TNAP (AAV8-TNAP-D10). Here, we conducted dosing studies in both HPP mouse models. A single escalating dose from 4x108 up to 4x1010 (vg/b) was intramuscularly injected into 4-day-old Alpl-/- mice (an infantile HPP model) and a single dose from 4x106 up to 4x109 (vg/b) was administered to 8-week-old AlplPrx1/Prx1 mice (a late-onset HPP model).

Tumor heterogeneity remains a formidable obstacle in targeted cancer therapy, often leading to suboptimal treatment outcomes. This study presents an innovative approach that harnesses controlled inflammation to guide neutrophil-mediated drug delivery, effectively overcoming the limitations imposed by tumor heterogeneity. By inducing localized inflammation within tumors using lipopolysaccharide, it significantly amplify the recruitment of drug-laden neutrophils to tumor sites, irrespective of specific tumor markers.

Infected burn wounds present significant clinical challenges due to delayed healing and risk of infection, necessitating advanced treatments that offer both antimicrobial and regenerative properties. This study aimed to develop and evaluate multifunctional electrospun nanofiber films incorporating rhamnose (as an angiogenic agent) and therapeutic agents, namely fluticasone, mupirocin, ciprofloxacin, and silver sulfadiazine, for the enhanced healing of infected burn wounds. Nanofibers containing rhamnose, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl alcohol and therapeutic agents were fabricated electrospinning.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are recognized as the second most common medical condition, following respiratory infections. Despite the availability of numerous efficacious antibiotics for the management of UTIs, the rising incidence of bacterial resistance presents significant challenges in the treatment of these infections. Bacteria are endowed with the ability to reproduce and develop resistance mechanisms against antibiotics.
