[Purpose] To investigate the effect of the five animals (wuqinxi) exercises on the lumbosacral multifidus. [Subjects and Methods] This study enrolled two groups of volunteers, 15 volunteers who did the five animals exercises, the experimental group, and 15 volunteers who did aerobic exercise (walking), the control group. Both before and after the 1 year exercise intervention, the average surface electromyography (ASEMG) of the two groups in the process of flexion and extension was recorded and analyzed using DASYLab10.0 software, and the flexion extension ratio (FER) was calculated. [Results] The ASEMG in the process of flexion was lower than the ASEMG in the process of extension both before and after the 1 year exercise intervention on both sides of all volunteers. There was no significant difference in FER between the experimental group and control group before the 1 year exercise intervention; however, the FER of experimental group was lower than that of the control group after the 1 year exercise intervention. There was no significant difference between the two sides in any individual both before and after the 1 year exercise intervention in both groups. [Conclusion] The "wuqinxi" exercises improved the function of the lumbosacral multifidus, and might be an alternative method of reducing low back pain.

Background: Delirium is a condition characterized by an acute and transient disturbance in attention, cognition, and consciousness. It is increasingly prevalent at the end of life in patients with cancer. While non-pharmacological nursing interventions are essential for delirium prevention, their effectiveness in terminally ill patients with cancer remains unclear.

The activity of a dentist reveals itself in numerous aspects, and its regulation is determined by the Deontological Code of the Dental Association, which contains a set of rules that dentists are obliged to follow in the exercise of their profession. The regulation of this activity goes beyond following these precepts because, in the legal relationship that is established whenever an agreement is made with a patient to carry out the treatment deemed appropriate, a series of duties and obligations begin for each party, translated into a reciprocal contract, in which the non-compliance of one of them may result in a legal claim. The objective of this study was to research most court decisions delivered in this century, in Portugal, regarding the activity of dentists when faced with patient claims and to outline a framework that better allows us to understand the regulation of this activity within the scope of the contracts established with them.

Forensic age estimation is performed by assessing pulp chamber constrictions due to physiological age-related changes in dental radiographs; however, the estimated ages occasionally deviate from the actual ages. In particular, long-term steroid users tend to demonstrate pulp chamber constrictions in all teeth. Because this is uncommon among younger age groups, caution should be exercised when evaluating pulp chamber constriction.

Objective: To determine whether there are differences in healthcare utilization for chronic pain based on location (rural vs urban/suburban) or healthcare system (civilians vs Military Service Members and Veterans [SMVs]) after moderate-severe TBI.
Setting: Eighteen Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems (TBIMS) Centers.
Participants: A total of 1,741 TBIMS participants 1 to 30 years post-injury reporting chronic pain at their most recent follow-up interview.
Unlabelled: Hypertension disproportionately affects African Americans, and adequate blood pressure (BP) control remains a challenge. Self-management of hypertension is critical for improving BP control and reducing hypertension-related morbidities.
Objectives: The objective of this study is to describe hypertension self-management (HTN-SM) behaviors and the relationship between HTN-SM and self-reported BP in middle- to older-aged African American adults.
