Objectives: The National Institute of the Cancer (INCA) recently published a study over the deadlines of medical care of breast cancers. We compared our delay within the framework of our expert center with their results.

Patients And Methods: Our work is a retrospective unicentric non-interventional study. We included all the patients taken care for a breast cancer to the hospital Tenon in Paris. The criteria of inclusion were a primitive breast cancer, having accepted a care for a first cancer operated over a period of three months. We recovered 9 key deadlines to study the care of our patients.

Results: Sixty-six patients were included. The mean age was of 55.6 years. The deadline of access to the hospital Tenon was 8.7 ± 7.7 days for the meetings of gynecology and 4.3 ± 4 days for those of radiology. The deadline of access to the diagnosis was 31.8 ± 26 days. The deadlines of access to the meeting of multidisciplinary dialogue pre-therapeutic was 13 ± 11 days. The access to the first management time was 18.5 days for the neoadjuvant chemotherapy and 13.5 days for surgery. The deadline of access to the postoperative therapeutic proposal was on average 20 ± 8 days. The deadline of access to the postoperative radiotherapy was of 197 days in case of postoperative chemotherapy vs 47.5 days without chemotherapy. The global deadline mammography-radiotherapy was of 188 days.

Discussion And Conclusion: The deadline of access to the diagnosis, to the postoperative therapeutic proposal and the global deadline mammography-radiotherapy with adjuvant chemotherapy or neoadjuvant were longer in our center compared with the results of the INCA. The deadlines of access to the surgery and access to the radiotherapy without postoperative chemotherapy were shorter on the other hand. The contribution of the diagnosis in one day for breast cancer is probably going to allow us to improve the deadlines of care in our structure.

Objectives: The debate over extending the legal time limit for abortion in Belgium has intensified in recent years. Health care providers must refer patients seeking abortion beyond the legal deadline to other countries, such as the Netherlands, where the time limits are more permissive. In light of this situation, we analyzed the demographic and social characteristics of patients requesting abortion after 14 weeks of gestation and compared them with those seeking the procedure within the legal limits.

This study explores the barriers encountered by participants in applying knowledge gained from a massive open online course (MOOC) on implementation research (IR), particularly among learners in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite the rising demand for quality IR training, access remains limited in LMICs. The IR MOOC, created by the Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, seeks to bridge this gap by providing free online IR training.

Article Synopsis
  • Undergraduate medical students often lack hands-on research experience, prompting the Cerrahpasa Neuroscience Society to create a program aimed at enhancing their research skills and encouraging student-led projects.
  • The initiative provided structured training through journal clubs, mentorship, and resource access, allowing 30 volunteer students from various Turkish medical schools to engage in either original research or systematic reviews.
  • As of April 2024, the program resulted in 3 published papers and 3 under peer review, while also increasing student interest in research and self-directed learning.

Fungal infections associated with oral, gynecological, and skin ailments pose significant clinical challenges. The presence of biofilms often hampers the efficacy of conventional antifungal drugs owing to the complex microenvironment they create. In this study, the widely used antifungal medication fluconazole is utilized as a foundational component to be incorporated into zinc 2-methylimidazolate frameworks, resulting in the synthesis of nanoscale fluconazole-constructed metal-organic frameworks (F-ZIF).

In this paper, a network comprising wireless devices equipped with buffers transmitting deadline-constrained data packets over a slotted-ALOHA random-access channel is studied. Although communication protocols facilitating retransmissions increase reliability, a packet awaiting transmission from the queue experiences delays. Thus, packets with time constraints might be dropped before being successfully transmitted, while at the same time causing the queue size of the buffer to increase.
