Background: Lung ultrasound scoring is a validated tool for assessing lung pathology. However, existing scoring systems typically overlook the size of consolidations, limiting their accuracy in certain clinical scenarios.
Case Presentation: We describe the first application of adding the maximum consolidation depth in centimeters (cm) to the conventional score.

Objective: To systematically evaluate the impact of aspirin on the pulmonary inflammatory response in animal models of acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS).
Methods: Experimental research on aspirin therapy or prevention of ALI/ARDS in animal models were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane library, Embase, China biology medicine, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP. The search time limit was from the establishment of the database to July 17, 2023.

Background: The benefit of Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) therapy in the setting of COVID-19-related ARDS is obscure. We performed a multicenter retrospective study to evaluate the impact of iNO on patients with COVID-19 who require respiratory support.
Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included COVID-19 patients enrolled in the SCCM VIRUS COVID-19 registry who were admitted to different Mayo Clinic sites between March 2020 and June 2022 and required high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), non-invasive ventilation (NIV), or invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV).

The optimal strategy for positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) titration in the management of severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients remains unclear. Current guidelines emphasize the importance of a careful risk-benefit assessment for PEEP titration in terms of cardiopulmonary function in these patients. Over the last few decades, the primary goal of PEEP usage has shifted from merely improving oxygenation to emphasizing lung protection, with a growing focus on the individual pattern of lung injury, lung and chest wall mechanics, and the hemodynamic consequences of PEEP.
