The reconstruction problem for periodic (arbitrary profiled within a period) boundary between two homogeneous media is considered. Our approach to the solution of the inverse problem is based on the Tikhonov regularization technique, which requires successive selection of the boundaries on the basis of multiple solutions of the direct problem of wave diffraction by the candidate boundaries. The analytical numerical C method has been chosen as a simple but rather efficient tool for the direct problem solving. The scheme for numerical tests of algorithms and criteria for reconstruction accuracy have been suggested and verified. Results of numerical experiments that prove the validity of the approach are presented.

Informant assessments are important tools when clinicians diagnose cognitive decline and dementia and have been used to characterize highly impaired adults in population studies. Contextual and social factors for men and women in different countries may make informants more or less likely to report changes in functioning and cognitive declines at different levels of cognitive impairment.

Background: Youth living with HIV (YLH) are disproportionately impacted by HIV with poor outcomes along the entire HIV care continuum. In a 2020-2022 pilot study, iCARE Nigeria, successfully tested a combination intervention incorporating mobile health technology and peer navigation to: 1) improve testing and linkage to HIV care for young men, especially young men who have sex with men (YMSM) and 2) improve medication adherence and treatment outcomes for YLH. The intervention was scaled up to 5 sites in 3 Nigerian cities.

Learning with noisy labels via clean aware sharpness aware minimization.

Noise label learning has attracted considerable attention owing to its ability to leverage large amounts of inexpensive and imprecise data. Sharpness aware minimization (SAM) has shown effective improvements in the generalization performance in the presence of noisy labels by introducing adversarial weight perturbations in the model parameter space. However, our experimental observations have shown that the SAM generalization bottleneck primarily stems from the difficulty of finding the correct adversarial perturbation amidst the noisy data.
