When a difficult airway is anticipated, awake tracheal intubation can be considered. Usually, low doses of sedatives are administered during this procedure for minimal sedation and anxiolysis, such as midazolam and remifentanil. The newly developed ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine remimazolam has a pharmacokinetic profile that is more suitable for titration during awake tracheal intubation than the long-acting midazolam.

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze changes in anxiety and comfort levels at each perioperative stage during third molar extraction under single-agent intravenous midazolam sedation, and to clarify how these conditions at each perioperative stage affect postoperative satisfaction.
Patients And Method: 115 who requested extraction of 1 ~ 4 third molars under single-agent intravenous midazolam sedation were targeted. These patients were administered a questionnaire survey one week after surgery.

Super-refractory status epilepticus (SRSE) is defined as status epilepticus that persists or recurs after treatment with anesthetic agents for more than 24 hours, including cases with recurrent seizures on reduction or withdrawal of anesthetic drugs. Super-refractory status epilepticus presents a significant challenge for neurologists, particularly when standard treatments fail to achieve seizure control. Lacosamide, which has a unique mechanism involving modulating voltage-gated sodium channels by enhancing their slow inactivation, has emerged as a potential option for managing SRSE.

Background/objectives: Falls and fractures are emerging as a near-pandemic and major global health concern, placing an enormous burden on ageing patients and public health economies. Despite the high risk of polypharmacy in the elderly patients, falls are usually attributed to age-related changes. For the "Individual Pharmacotherapy Management (IPM)" established at the University Hospital Halle, the IPM medication adjustments and their association with in-hospital fall prevention were analysed.
