Objective: The nature of ADHD, especially in adulthood, is not well-understood. Therefore, we explored subcomponents of attention in adult ADHD.
Method: Twenty-three adults with ADHD were tested on neurocognitive and visual tracking performance both while on their regular prescription stimulant medication and while abstaining from the medication for 1 day. Pairwise comparisons to 46 two-for-one matched normal controls were made to detect medication-resistant effects of ADHD, and within-participant comparisons were made to detect medication-sensitive effects in patients.
Results: Even when on medication, patients performed more poorly than controls on a spatial working memory task, and on visual tracking and simple reaction time tasks immediately following other attention-demanding tasks. Patients' visual tracking performance degraded while off-medication in a manner consistent with reduced vigilance.
Conclusion: There may be persistent cognitive impairments in adult ADHD despite medication. In addition, the benefit of stimulants seems reduced under cognitive fatigue.

EasyVis is an emerging immersive 3D laparoscopic visualization system for improving the efficiency of laparoscopic surgery. It integrates multiple micro-cameras and light sources with the surgical ports to provide intra-abdominal stereo vision of surgery at a desired viewpoint. In this work, we develop a visualization algorithm using the EasyVis micro-camera array assembly in a laparoscopic surgery training box environment with simplified training tasks to validate the feasibility of this novel technology.

Objective: Dyspnea is commonly experienced in adults who are young and have different health conditions (asthma, obesity, panic disorders) and may impede not only physical exertion but also cognitive function such as visual attention. To test this, visual attention was evaluated using the Multiple Object Tracking Test (MOT) alone and combined with low or moderate inspiratory threshold loading (ITL).
Methods: Using a pretest-posttest design, we evaluated 25 participants who were healthy and 19 to 31 years old.

Background: Neurofibromatosis Type 1 is a genetic condition diagnosed in infancy that substantially increases the likelihood of a child experiencing cognitive and developmental difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Children with NF1 show clear differences in attention, but whether these differences emerge in early development and how they relate to broader difficulties with cognitive and learning skills is unclear. To address this question requires longitudinal prospective studies from infancy, where the relation between domains of visual attention (including exogenous and endogenous shifting) and cognitive development can be mapped over time.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of navigated subthreshold micropulse laser (NSML) compared to subthreshold micropulse laser (SML) without navigation in the management of chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with chronic CSCR who underwent either NSML or SML without navigation. Patients meeting inclusion criteria presented with serous macular detachment and leakage at the level of the retinal pigment epithelium on fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA).
