A modified coaxial technique for the biopsy of small or deeply situated lesions using computed tomographic (CT) guidance is described. A 22-gauge needle was passed coaxially through an outer 18-gauge introducing needle and aspiration biopsy was performed. This modified coaxial technique allows for multiple biopsies to be obtained safely, expeditiously, and repeatedly.

Objective: To investigate the short-term effectiveness of uni-portal non-coaxial spinal endoscopic surgery (UNSES) via crossing midline approach (CMA) in the treatment of free lumbar disc herniation (FLDH).
Methods: Between March 2024 and June 2024, 16 patients with FLDH were admitted and treated with UNSES via CMA. There were 9 males and 7 females with an average age of 55.

Oxidative stress induced by reactive oxygen species (ROS) can adversely affect tissue repair, whereas endowing biomaterials with antioxidant activity can improve the in vivo microenvironment, thereby promoting angiogenesis and osteogenesis. Accordingly, this study utilized epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a material known for its reducing properties, oxidative self-polymerization capability, and strong binding characteristics, to modify a bioactive core-shell fibrous membrane (10RP-PG). Compared to the 10RP-PG fibrous membrane, the EGCG-modified fibrous membrane (E/10RP-PG) exhibited superior hydrophilicity, excellent cell adhesion, and compatibility.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors in the oral and maxillofacial region. Traditional treatments for OSCC, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, often lead to severe adverse effects. Therefore, the development of safe and effective novel cancer therapies is crucial for achieving synergistic cancer treatment, significantly enhancing patient survival and quality of life.

Adjusting the structure of the membrane and improving its performance proved to be an effective technique for accomplishing efficient dye wastewater purification. Water erosion of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) core in polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber membrane modified with UiO-66-NH was successfully achieved, in this study, using coaxial electrospinning, and ZIF-8 with excellent performance was further epitaxy-grown in situ. Two differently shaped and positively charged MOFs confer strong adsorption capacity (adsorption capacity >2042 mg/g) on cationic dyes.
