Background: Stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) has been linked to prognosis of cerebrovascular diseases. Nevertheless, the association between SHR and severe disturbance of consciousness (DC) and mortality among patients with cerebral infarction remains explored. This study seeks to assess the predictive potential of SHR for severe DC and mortality among patients with cerebral infarction.

: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has emerged as a pivotal intervention for managing severe aortic stenosis in high-risk surgical patients. : This study aimed to evaluate the impacts of procedural factors and patient characteristics on TAVI outcomes, with a focus on survival rates, cardiac mortality, and associated complications. : A retrospective, single-center study involving 224 patients who underwent TAVI at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences from September 2021 to April 2023 was conducted.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the leading cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality. Although the invasive liver biopsy remains the golden standard for MASLD diagnosis, Magnetic Resonance Imaging-derived Proton Density Fat Fraction (MRI-PDFF) is an accurate, non-invasive method for the assessment of treatment response. This study aimed at developing a Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) to improve MRI-PDFF prediction using UK Biobank data to assess an individual's genetic liability to MASLD.

Background: Recent updates to the Chinese guidelines for dyslipidemia management have reduced the 10-year risk threshold for starting statins in the primary prevention of atherosclerotic heart disease. This study aims to evaluate the potential negative effects of different statin initiation thresholds on diabetes risk in the Chinese population, while also analyzing their health economic implications.
Methods: I We developed a microsimulation model based on event probabilities to assess the cost-effectiveness of statin therapy.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of a machine learning framework and nomogram in predicting progression-free survival (PFS) post-radical gastrectomy in patients with dMMR.
Method: Machine learning models and nomograms to forecast PFS in patients undergoing radical gastrectomy for nonmetastatic gastric cancer with dMMR. Independent risk factors were identified using Cox regression analysis to develop the nomogram.
