Objectives: This study aims to observe and report on the use of saline infusion sonography (SIS) to find out intrauterine and tubal factors in infertile/subfertile women, focusing on its diagnostic use, clinical advantages, and practical implications.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted involving 86 women presenting with subfertility and/or recurrent pregnancy loss in a tertiary care hospital. These participants were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria relevant to the study objectives.

Trichloroacetic acid (TCAA) solution is used to treat vulvar condyloma and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Saline infusion sonohysterography (SIS) detects intrauterine pathology and fallopian tube patency in infertile patients. A 33-year-old Caucasian nulliparous fertility patient presented to the emergency department with extensive burns following accidental intrauterine instillation of TCAA during SIS with tubal perfusion.

Recent advancements in assisted reproductive technology (ART) have enabled couples to achieve pregnancy, who were previously unable to conceive. However, recurrent implantation failure (RIF) remains a significant challenge. This case study exhibits the effective use of hysteroscopic-guided platelet-rich plasma (PRP) instillation in the treatment of a female patient aged 33 who was nulliparous and diagnosed with RIF and a thin endometrium, which resulted in primary infertility.

[Grade A] Written information should be provided to the woman prior to their appointment. This should include details about the procedure, the benefits and risks, advice regarding pre-operative analgesia, as well as alternative options for care and contact details for the hysteroscopy unit.
