Laparoscopic greater curvature plication (LGCP) is relatively a new procedure. We report a novel complication of obstructive jaundice in a 24-year-old patient post LGCP. This was secondary to gastric mucosa prolapse with obstruction of the ampulla of Vater. A literature review revealed no previous reports of similar complication.

Background: Preoperative biliary drainage (PBD) for selected patients with severe juandice has been shown to improve clinical conditions for pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and reduce the risk of post-pancreatectomy hemorrhage (PPH). However, the determination of an optimal end-point for PBD remains unclear. The aim of this research is to introduce the concept of goal-oriented biliary drainage, which may serve as a reasonable target and identify the optimal surgery time window.

Backgrounds And Aims: In ERCP, precutting is used when biliary cannulation is challenging. Precutting is a high-risk procedure that can lead to adverse events. We report the case of a 77-year-old woman with jaundice but no evidence of choledocholithiasis or other alterations of the biliary tree except for a duodenal diverticulum. Lemmel's syndrome was diagnosed and an endoscopic sphincterotomy with stenting was performed. Lemmel's syndrome is a rare disease that must be considered as a cause of obstructive jaundice.

This manuscript reports the case of a 75-year-old patient presenting with a collision tumor consisting of a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor and intra-ampullary adenocarcinoma, which manifested with obstructive jaundice and was treated with primary surgical cytoreduction. Additionally, a bibliographic search of original articles was performed in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE; via PubMed) and the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) databases to review the literature on pancreaticobiliary collision tumors. Currently, information regarding pancreatic and bile duct collision tumors is limited due to their very low incidence.

Carcinosarcomas of the bile ducts are very rare tumors. Their diagnosis and management remain difficult. We here report the case of a patient in whom the diagnosis was suspected due to cholestatic jaundice associated with a deterioration in general condition.
