For the first time, mechanochemical synthesis has been used for the preparation of crystalline and amorphous dinuclear gold(i) helicates, [Au2L2](X)2 (L = xantphos; X = CF3SO3, SCN, BF4 and PF6), that show anion- and phase-switchable luminescence properties. This solid-state approach provides strategies for developing switchable luminescent materials.

Lead halide perovskites have garnered interest in light-emitting diode (LED) applications due to their strong emission and tunable properties. However, conventional synthesis methods involve energy-intensive thermal processes and hazardous organic solvents, raising environmental concerns. In this study, we report a simple and eco-friendly mechanochemical approach that produces phase-pure blue-emitting CsCuI (emission at 440 nm) and yellow-emitting CsCuI (emission at 570 nm) phosphors through polarity modulation and control of grinding duration.

Solid electrolytes (SEs) are crucial for advancing next-generation rechargeable battery technologies, but their commercial viability is partially limited by expensive precursors, unscalable synthesis, or low ionic conductivity. Lithium tetrahaloaluminates offer an economical option but exhibit low Li conductivities with high activation energy barriers. This study reports the synthesis of lithium aluminum chalcohalide (LiAlClS) using inexpensive precursors one-step mechanochemical milling.

A multipronged approach to the refined mechanochemical synthesis of the semiconductor kesterite CuZnSnS with minimal quantities of adventitious oxygen as well as to optimizing handling procedures from that angle is described. Three precursor systems are used to provide a pool of freshly made cubic prekesterite nanopowders with no semiconductor properties and the thermally annealed at 500 °C tetragonal kesterite nanopowders of the semiconductor. Based on the previously reported high propensity of such nanopowders to long-term deteriorating oxidation in ambient air, suitable modifications of all crucial synthesis steps are implemented, which are directed toward excluding or limiting the materials' exposure to air.

Introduction: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are associated with severe gastrointestinal irritation upon prolonged use, largely due to their carboxylic (-- COOH) functional group.
Aim: To address this issue, we aimed to synthesize diclofenac conjugates with glucosamine and chitosan, converting the -COOH group into an amide (-CONH-) via a mechanochemical, environmentally friendly method.
Method: In this study, diclofenac acid was first converted to its acid chloride using thionyl chloride under mechanochemical conditions and subsequently reacted with glucosamine base and chitosan.

Biotin[6]uril, a chiral, water-soluble and anion binding macrocycle, is formed via dynamic covalent chemistry. In this study, we present a scalable and high-yielding synthesis of biotin[6]uril via a mechanochemical solid-state approach. The optimized protocol involves mechanical grinding of solid D-biotin with paraformaldehyde in the presence of 0.
