Given the increased necessity for local program administrators to operate evidenced-based programs developed for different target populations and community settings, we present evidence about the effectiveness of a specific adolescent health intervention, Making Proud Choices (MPC). MPC was originally designed for inner city, African-American youth in high HIV communities, but implemented recently in diverse settings shown to be at high risk of teen-pregnancy in Missouri. In light of the pressures for local adaptation of the comprehensive sexual education curriculum, we created a three-pronged fidelity assessment tool. We find that significant gains are reported in terms of knowledge as well as intent to use a condom. Furthermore, these findings are consistently achieved in both urban and rural settings, with foster care youth, and for Whites and African-Americans.

People with amblyopia show deficits in global motion perception, especially at slow speeds. These observers are also known to have unstable fixation when viewing stationary fixation targets, relative to healthy controls. It is possible that poor fixation stability during motion viewing interferes with the fidelity of the input to motion-sensitive neurons in visual cortex.

Reaching competency in congenital heart surgery (CHS) requires lengthy and rigorous training. Due to patient safety, time limitations, and procedural complexity, the intraoperative setting is not ideal for technical practice. Surgical simulation using synthetic, biological, or virtual models is an increasingly valuable educational tool for technical training and assessment.

Background/objectives: This protocol describes a study to investigate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a novel Teaching Kitchen Multisite Trial (TK-MT) for adults with cardiometabolic abnormalities. The TK-MT protocol describes a hybrid lifestyle intervention combining in-person and virtual instruction in culinary skills, nutrition education, movement, and mindfulness with community support and behavior change strategies. This 18-month-long randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the feasibility of implementing a 12-month, 24 class program, assess preliminary study efficacy, and identify barriers and facilitators to implementation.

: Developing ex vivo models that replicate immune-tumor interactions with high fidelity is essential for advancing immunotherapy research, as traditional two-dimensional in vitro systems often lack the complexity required to fully represent these interactions. : In this study, we establish a comprehensive 3D redirect lysis (3D-RDL) assay using colorectal cancer spheroids and adult stem cell-derived, healthy human organoids to evaluate the efficacy and safety profile of , a bispecific antibody targeting carcinoembryonic antigens (CEAs) on cancer cells and CD3 on T cells. This model allows us to assess cytotoxic activity and immune responses, capturing variations in therapeutic response not observable in simpler systems.

We used otolith chemistry to test and complement current hypotheses regarding habitat use and connectivity between sub-populations in Area 48 of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). Sagittal otoliths from 45 fish sampled near the South Orkney Islands were analysed. Their elemental (Li, Na, Mg, Cr, Mn, Sr, Sn, and Ba relative to Ca) and isotopic (δO and δC) signatures were examined in both the nuclear and marginal regions, representing juvenile and adult stages.
