The reaction of β- and γ-haloamines with carbon dioxide to give pharmaceutically relevant 2-oxazolidinones and 1,3-dioxazin-2-ones, was found to proceed efficiently in the presence of a base and in the absence of catalyst. After optimization of reaction conditions, the system was successfully expanded to a variety of haloamines, even at multigram scale. The reaction was further studied in silico by DFT calculations.

This study investigates the spatio-temporal distribution of formaldehyde (HCHO) over the mainland Southeast Asian region (including Northeast India) from 2019 to 2022 using TROPOMI satellite data. HCHO is a key atmospheric trace gas which is influenced by both natural processes and anthropogenic activities. We analyze HCHO levels in relation to atmospheric species including carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO), and environmental factors such as land surface temperature (LST), precipitation (PPT), fire radiative power (FRP), and enhanced vegetation index (EVI).

Insect farming is expected to increase in coming years, thus generating high quantities of frass (insect excreta). Frass valorization hinges on basic agronomic research prior to industry upscaling. Here, we investigated soil physiochemical properties, SMAF (Soil Management Assessment Framework) soil health, CO efflux, and bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.

Mature compost can reduce gaseous emissions in composting, but its regulation mechanisms via biotic and abiotic functions are largely unknown. This study used fresh and inactivated mature compost as additives in kitchen waste composting to unveil the relevant mechanisms using metagenomic analysis. Results showed that mature compost reduce gaseous emission by improving physiochemical properties and inoculating functional microbes.

Cellulose-based poly(ionic liquid)s: Correlations between degree of substitution and alkyl side chain length with conductive and morphological properties.

Ion transport in solid polymer electrolytes is crucial for applications like energy conversion and storage, as well as carbon dioxide capture. However, most of the materials studied in this area are petroleum-based. Natural materials (biopolymers) have the potential to act as alternatives to petroleum-based products and, when derived with ionic liquid (IL) functionalities, present a sustainable alternative for conductive materials by offering tunable morphological, thermal, and mechanical properties.

This study employed in-situ online monitoring to assess the impact of Spartina alterniflora harvesting on greenhouse gas emissions. Their fluxes and δC values were measured in unvegetated tidal flat, low and medium vegetation coverage areas of the salt marsh wetlands along the south shore of Hangzhou Bay about a month after harvest. The objective was to clarify fluxes changes and interactions with environmental factors.
