When stable atropisomers are encountered by drug discovery teams, they can have important implications due to potential differences in their biological activity, pharmacokinetics, and toxicity. Knowledge of an atropisomer's activation parameters for interconversion is required to facilitate informed decisions on how to proceed. Herein, we communicate the development of a new method for the rapid measurement of atropisomer racemization kinetics utilizing segmented flow technology. This method leverages the speed, accuracy, low sample requirement, safety, and semiautomated nature of flow instrumentation to facilitate the acquisition of kinetics data required for experimentally probing atropisomer activation parameters. Measured kinetics data obtained for the atropo isomerization of AMPA antagonist CP-465021 using segmented flow and traditional thermal methods were compared to validate the method.

To assess the effectiveness of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) on electrocardiographic remodeling in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS), and identify its influencing factors. A cohort study was conducted on patients with a confirmed diagnosis of severe AS who successfully underwent TAVR at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University between June 2018 and March 2023. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the restoration of coronary flow just before stent deployment and the final thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) flow grade 3 in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) whose initial TIMI flow grade ≤ 1. In primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), initial TMI flow grade ≤ 1 is closely associated with suboptimal final TIMI flow grade. We included 466 STEMI patients with initial TIMI flow grade ≤ 1 and divided into a restored flow group or an unrestored flow group according to the TIMI flow grade just before stent deployment.

The presentation of pulmonary vasculature in pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect and major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (PA/VSD/MAPCA) is highly variable-as is the number, size and position of the MAPCAs and their relationship with the native pulmonary artery system. The priority in the management of this disease should be attaining timely and complete unifocalization, as opposed to single-stage full repair in every case. The merit of early unifocalization is that it secures the pulmonary vascular bed by (a) avoiding loss of lung segments from progressive stenosis/atresia of MAPCA origins, (b) preventing lung injury from high pressure/flow in areas fed by large, unobstructed MAPCAs, and (c) restoring central continuity of the pulmonary vasculature.
