It has been estimated that Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common form of dementia, will affect approximately 81 million individuals by 2040. To date, the actual cause and cascade of events in the progression of this disease have not been fully determined. Furthermore, there is currently no definitive blood test or simple diagnostic method for AD. Considerable efforts have been put into proteomic approaches to develop a diagnostic blood test, but to date these efforts have not been successful. More recently, there has been a stronger focus on lipidomic studies in the hope of increasing our understanding of the underlying mechanisms leading to AD and developing an AD blood test. It is well known that the strongest genetic risk factor for AD is the ε4 variant of apolipoprotein E (APOE). Evidence suggests that the ApoE protein, a major lipid transporter, plays a key role in the pathogenesis of AD, and its role in both normal and aberrant lipid metabolism warrants further extensive investigation. Here, we review ApoE-lipid interactions, as well as the roles that lipids may play in the pathogenesis of AD.

Engineered heart tissues have been introduced to reproduce heart functions to understand the pathophysiological properties of the heart and to test and develop potential therapeutics. Although numerous studies have been conducted in various fields to increase the functionality of heart tissue to be similar to reality, there are still many difficulties in reproducing the blood-pumping function of the heart.

Background: Beta-lactams remain the first-line treatment of infections despite the increasing global prevalence of penicillin-resistant/non-susceptible strains. We conducted a cross-sectional household survey in a rural community in northern Vietnam in 2018-2019 to provide prevalence estimates of penicillin non-susceptible (PNSP) carriage and to investigate behavioural and environmental factors associated with PNSP colonization. The data presented will inform the design of a large trial of population-based interventions targeting inappropriate antibiotic use.

Patients And Methods: The patients with keloids were retrospectively analyzed who underwent surgery-based sequentially comprehensive treatment at the Plastic Surgery Department of Shandong Provincial Hospital from January 2018 to August 2021. The recurrence rate and incidence of adverse reactions were explored for all the included patients.

Purpose: To study the effects of breathing exercises on preventing pulmonary complications in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
Methods: Observing whether preoperative breathing exercises can reduce the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery; observing whether these exercises can improve postoperative arterial oxygen pressure, oxygen saturation, and the distance walked in a six-minute walk test after surgery; as well as reduce hospital stay duration, lower treatment costs, and improve the quality of life as measured by the Short Form-36 Health Survey (SF-36).
Design: The study population includes patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery under general anesthesia; the research center is Capital Medical University Xuanwu Hospital; the sample size is 120.

Methods: A randomized selection of 40 T2DM patients from Sindh Government Hospital New Karachi with their consents was done for a non-blinded controlled trial from October to December 2019 and divided into P (Positive Control, metformin 500 mg) & T (Test, + was also included, using the same dosage of CapCASP on twenty healthy volunteers. The data were analyzed using an online graph pad student's t-test and a one-way ANOVA (SPSS version 24) metformin 500mg each).
