Introduction: Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery is a rare congenital anomaly and one of the causes of myocardial ischemia. The usual clinical course is severe left-sided heart failure and mitral valve insufficiency presenting during the first months of life.

Case Presentation: We report the case of a 6-month-old Tunisian girl who presented with dilated cardiomyopathy. Echocardiography suspected anomalous origin of the left coronary artery. The definitive diagnosis of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery was reached by multislice computed tomography and coronary angiography.

Conclusion: In cases of dilated cardiomyopathy, anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery syndrome has to be kept in mind as a surgically correctable cause.

During dissection of a 70-year-old male donor, several anatomical variations were observed, highlighted by a bilateral variant middle scalene muscle in the superolateral thoracic wall. The variant scalene muscle was traced from the transverse processes of cervical vertebrae to the fourth rib with a pronounced fascial slip. The elongated middle scalene muscle was thick in girth and abnormally wide at its insertion (56.

Rationale: Quadricuspid aortic valve (QAV) is a rare condition with a very low incidence. Anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery (AAOCA) is the most prevalent form of coronary anomaly. One variant of AAOCA is the anomalous aortic origin of the left coronary artery from the right coronary sinus (L-AAOCA).

A young female patient suffered cardiogenic shock after undergoing surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. Coronary artery computed tomography angiography (CTA) revealed a left main artery (LM) originating from the right coronary sinus and traveling between the aorta and pulmonary artery. We successfully resuscitated the patient with mechanical circulatory support using veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) and an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).

A slab window in the south rim of the Parece-Vela Basin.

Slab windows represent regions within the mantle that are largely devoid of slab material, facilitating direct communication between the mantle above and below the subducting slab. This unprecedented interaction disrupts the conventional material-energy exchange mechanisms between the subducted slab and mantle wedge, giving rise to anomalous heat flow, distinct magmatism, metamorphism, and geophysical features. Geochemical analyses of samples collected from the southern margin of the Parece-Vela Basin have illuminated the magmatic processes associated with a slab window.
