A quick and reliable system is described to quantify risk assessment for compounded sterile pharmaceuticals, which are "compounded in anticipation" for hospitals and clinics, having shelf lives assessed on documented literature and other criteria. These shelf lives are well in excess of the recommendations of the United States Pharmacopeia without placing patients at risk due to inadequate safety, quality, or efficacy.

Harnessing engineered living materials for energy application represents a promising avenue to sustainable energy conversion and storage, with bio-batteries emerging as a pivotal direction for sustainable power supply. Whereas, the realization of miniaturized and portable bio-battery orchestrating off-the-shelf devices remains a significant challenge. Here, this work reports the development of a miniaturized and portable bio-battery using living hydrogels containing conductive biofilms encapsulated in an alginate matrix for nerve stimulation.

The increasing demand for biofabricating human tissue analogs for therapeutic applications has encouraged the pursuit of innovative techniques that shift from conventional bioprint-to-use approaches toward instantaneous bioprint-cryopreserve strategies. Such enabling concepts and next-generation technologies open new possibilities for fabricating shelf-ready living constructs for applications in regenerative medicine, preclinical disease modeling, and beyond. The generation of living constructs either for short- or long-term cryostorage requires, however, a careful design of cryoprotective bioinks to maximize biofunctionality and limit cell damage during processing.

Ice-stored farmed barramundi (), snubnose pompano () and sobaity bream (), as well as wild-caught cobia (), coral trout (), giant trevally (), milkfish () and mangrove red snapper (), were compared for their freshness/spoilage using sensory, chemical and microbiological methods. Quality Index Method schemes were developed to determine alterations in the sensory freshness. The shelf lives ranged from 8 (coral trout) to 18 days (sobaity bream).

This study aims to evaluate the effects of structural changes in cross-linked mung bean starch (CLMB) on freeze-thaw stability and in vitro digestibility and explore its potential to prevent starch retrogradation and its applicability as a resistant starch (RS)- enhanced food ingredient. Mung beans of different varieties (Eohul, Geumsung, and Sohyeon) were cross-linked using an STMP:STPP ratio of 9:1. The structure and thermal properties of CLMB and its digestibility, as well as the textural properties of 10% CLMB gels and their freeze-thaw stability, were evaluated.

The common bottlenose dolphin is a cosmopolitan species that can be found worldwide in all oceans except polar and sub-polar waters. This wide distribution is associated with a certain level of morphological variation, which seems consistent with the presence of a globally distributed pelagic/offshore ecotype and several coastal/inshore ecotypes distributed along the continental shelf. In the Mediterranean Sea, the common bottlenose dolphin is a regularly occurring species and the second most sighted cetacean after the striped dolphin.
