Background: The present study was devised to evaluate the effects of 17% EDTAC on smear layer removal and on the dentin structure after irrigation with 1 minute and 10 minutes.
Materials & Methods: One hundred extracted mandibular molars with two separate mesial canals were selected; mesiobuccal canal was instrumented to size 30 file with crown down technique. One half of each root (either mesial or distal) was randomly selected and prepared for scanning electron microscopic (SEM) evaluation that was then cut longitudinally into two equal segments. Using 10 ml of 17% EDTA solution, halves belonging to the same root were irrigated for 1 and 10 min, respectively. All specimens were subjected to irrigation with 10 ml of 5% NaOCl. Then all the specimens were prepared for SEM evaluation.
Results: The results showed that 1 min EDTA irrigation is effective in removing the smear layer. However a 10-min application of EDTA caused excessive peritubular and intertubular dentinal erosion.
Conclusion: Therefore we suggest that this procedure should not be prolonged >1 min during endodontic treatment. How to cite the article: Darda S, Madria K, Jamenis R, Heda A, Khanna A, Sardar L. Objectives: Depth of invasion (DOI) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) guides treatment and prognosis but lacks three-dimensional (3D) insight. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the feasibility and accuracy of Lugol's iodine-enhanced micro-computed tomography (CT) for the 3D measurement of DOI in OSCC samples.
Methodology: In total, 50 in vitro OSCC samples from Nanjing Stomatological Hospital (July 2022 to January 2024) were subjected to micro-CT imaging with a slice thickness of 50 μm following 3% Lugol iodine staining for 12 h, followed by pathological examination and staining.

Introduction: The use of corticosteroid injections for short-term pain relief for knee osteoarthritis can have deleterious adverse effects. Amniotic tissue has shown promise in vitro; therefore, this study compared a morcellized injectable amniotic tissue allograft to corticosteroid injection.

PROTACs usually occupy physicochemical space outside the one defined by classical drug-like molecules, which often presents considerable challenges in their optimization and development for oral administration. We have previously reported phenyl glutarimide (PG)-based BET PROTAC SJ995973, with improved overall degradation and antiproliferative activities compared to its direct thalidomide-based analogue dBET1, but similarly poor pharmacokinetic profile. To further demonstrate the PG utility, we describe here optimization efforts that led to the discovery of an orally bioavailable BET-PROTAC SJ44236 (), and results of a comprehensive comparative study with analogues containing alternative CRBN-directing warheads.

This study explores the formulation and characterization of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-based composite hydrogels synthesized through solid-state crosslinking. Comprehensive assessments were conducted on their physicochemical properties, leachables, and immunogenicity. Swelling experiments demonstrated that the incorporation of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) enhanced water retention, while chitosan had a minimal effect on swelling behavior.
