The qPCR has been introduced in clinical and biomedical research for over 10 years from now. Its use in trials and diagnostics is continuously increasing. Due to this heavy use, the question of relyability and relevance of qPCR results has to be asked. This review proposes a documented and evidence based answer to this question, thanks to the MIQE (minimum information for publication of quantitative real-time PCR experiments) guideline. The whole analysis process is addressed, from nucleic acids extraction to data management. Simple answers are given, taking into account the technical constraints from clinical research in order to allow a realistic application of this guideline.

Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is a significant pathogen infecting poultry that is responsible for high mortality, morbidity and severe economic losses to the poultry industry globally, posing a substantial risk to the health of poultry. APEC encounters reactive oxygen species (ROS) during the infection process and thus has evolved antioxidant defense mechanisms to protect against oxidative damage. The imbalance of ROS production and antioxidant defenses is known as oxidative stress, which results in oxidative damage to proteins, lipids and DNA, and even bacterial cell death.

Crystal-violet staining, microscopy with image analysis, and quantitative PCR (qPCR) were compared to examine biofilm dynamics. Biofilms of 30 polycultures comprising 15 bacterial species were monitored for 14 days. Collectively, qPCR (representing population) revealed a different growth pattern compared to staining (biomass) and microscopy (colonization): biomass and colonization gradually increased over time, whereas population increased rapidly for the first seven days and leveled off.

Background/aim: Autosomal-recessive carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase deficiency (CACTD) is a rare disorder of long-chain fatty acid oxidation caused by variants in the SLC25A20 gene. Under fasting conditions, most newborns with severe CACTD experience sudden cardiac arrest and hypotonia, often leading to premature death due to rapid disease progression. Understanding of genetic factors and pathogenic mechanisms in CACTD is essential for its diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

Backgrounds: Recent studies have found Several lncRNAs were proved differential expression in diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) patients, however, the mechanism of DOR caused by lncRNAs is still largely unclear.
Methods: High throughput sequencing was performed in ovarian GCs extracted from women with normal ovarian function and women with DOR. Bioinformation analysis was used to analyze the sequencing data and identify the differential expression of lncRNAs.

Background: APG-115 is a novel small-molecule selective inhibitor that destabilizes the p53-MDM2 complex and activates p53-mediated apoptosis in tumor cells. Anlotinib inhibits tumor angiogenesis and promotes apoptosis. In this study, we investigated the apoptotic effect and potential mechanism of APG-115 and anlotinib combination on AML cell lines with different p53 backgrounds.
