The increasing importance of genomics and its expanding clinical application underscore the significance of genetic counseling in disseminating this vital information. In many countries, including regions of Latin America and the Caribbean, there is a shortage of adequately trained genetics providers thus limiting access to these essential services. Moreover, providers practicing genetic counseling are scarce and experience a lack of professional support.

Objective: To estimate the association between disability and the demand for medical emergency care by citizens of Peru over the age of 18 years in 2019.
Methods: Cross-sectional analysis of secondary data from the national survey of budgeted programs (ENAPRES, in its Peruvian abbreviation) of 2019. Disabilities were surveyed based on the criteria of the Washington Group on Disability Statistics.

Standard protocols for clinical fertilization (IVF) laboratories recommend incubating semen at 37°C in 5% CO without strictly specifying which medium should be used or for how long. This study aimed to test the most common different incubation media used in Latin American andrology and micromanipulation laboratories and verify which, if any, is the most appropriate medium to improve asthenozoospermic semen samples' motility in the infertile male population. Ejaculates (136) collected from asthenozoospermic men were divided into two cohorts with similar characteristics (cohort 1; n = 28 and cohort 2; n = 108).

Treatment of diseases in the 17th century was solely dependent on and linked to the medicinal products, many a time of exotic origin, prepared by pharmacists. In this regard our main research contribution is that it provides the then description of tuberculosis and elucidates the use and pecularities in its treatment.
