Jean-Martin Charcot (1825-1893) did not show much interest in the peripheral nervous system and its associated pathologies. He found it difficult to place the peripheral nerve within his classification of disorders; it appeared to be an exception to his theories. Even the pathology that he described in 1886 with Pierre Marie (1853-1940), at the same time as Henry Tooth (1856-1925), and which is now known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy, was considered by Charcot to be a potential myelopathy.

Introduction: Segmental necrotizing granulomatous neuritis (SNGN) is a rare complication of leprosy involving peripheral nerves. It can appear alone in cases of pure neuritic leprosy or in combination with cutaneous lesions.
Case Presentation: A 15-year-old female diagnosed with borderline tuberculoid leprosy who received prior multidrug therapy presented 2 years later with occasional pain and tingling sensations along the inner aspect of her right arm and forearm.

Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
Purpose: To determine whether tranexamic acid (TXA) is safe to administer preoperatively in patients undergoing hip arthroscopy by comparing the venous thromboembolic rate and complication rate between patients who did and did not receive TXA preoperatively.
Methods: This was a multicenter consecutive-cohort series of patients who underwent arthroscopic hip surgery between 2014 and 2021. The 2 cohorts comprised patients who did and did not receive TXA preoperatively (single dose of 1-2 g), after a practice change.
