In the polymeric title compound, [Ag(C8H14N3)] n , the Ag(I) cation is coordinated by three N atoms from three 3,5-diisopropyl-1,2,4-triazolate anions in a T-shaped geometry. The Ag(I) cation deviates from the coordination plane by 0.014 (1) Å and the N-Ag-N bond angles are 96.85 (11), 97.72 (10) and 165.39 (12)°. The triazolate anion bridges three Ag(I) cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric network.

Identification of disulfide-peptide-bond-containing glutathione (GSSG) over the monosulfide form (GSH) remains a very challenging task because of their identical chemical properties. Although GSH detection has been well documented, selective detection of GSSG has rarely been reported. Here, four cationic Ag-based coordination polymers (Ag CPs) were synthesized using newly synthesized monotriazole linker 3-amino-5-(4-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)pyridine to selectively screen GSSG over GSH.

At the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS), continuous water circulation cools fuel debris, leading to the presence of radionuclides such as Sr-30, Cs-137, and I-129 in the cooling water. These radionuclides are adsorbed and co-precipitated by various materials. Among them, I-129 is a key radionuclide for safety assessment during the final disposal of adsorbent and co-precipitation materials, owing to its long half-life and poor sorption.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are carcinogenic and persistent organic pollutants in water. Their removal is highly challenging for existing generic and nonspecific adsorbents, creating an urgent need for tailored solutions. Herein, a metal-"organic cage" framework, MOF-CC-1, designed for the effective scavenging of PAHs from water is is introduced.

In virtue of the cationic tri(pyridin-4-yl)amine (TPA) derivatives acting as the templates, two iodometallates, [MeHTPA][CuI][CuI] () and [MeTPA][AgI] (), were constructed with different architectures. Compound features a discrete [CuI] cluster, which is further combined with [CuI] and two [MeHTPA] moieties through electrostatic interactions to result in a 3D supramolecular framework. Two types of infinite Ag-I chains with different orientations are formed in iodoargentate , and adjacent chains, together with in situ -methylated cations, are further aggregated into a final 3D supramolecule.

Two new Ag(I) complexes with coumaric carboxylic acid derivatives have been synthesized. Structural studies of these noncrystalline complexes have been performed using a methodology that combines laboratory and synchrotron techniques, supported by density functional theory calculations. The arrangement of ligands around the Ag(I) cation has been refined using infrared, extended X-ray absorption fine structure, and X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopies.
