This report presents a method of quick and accurate imaging of the sellar region by means of the laryngological mirror equipped with a light pipe and followed by taking digital photograph as the mirror image visible through the foramen magnum. A technique of the intracranial imaging of the osseous structures was tested on the macerated human skulls. Images of the sellar region were presented as the example of quality of the employed technique, which can be regarded as a simplified version of the endoscopic examination.

Background: Hailey-Hailey disease (HHD), a genetic blistering disease, is caused by a mutation in a calcium transporter protein in the Golgi apparatus encoded by the gene. Clinically, HHD is characterized by flaccid vesicles, blisters, erosions, fissures, and maceration mainly in intertriginous regions. Some patients remain refractory to conventional treatments.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a common and highly morbid complication of diabetes with high unmet medical needs. AUP1602-C, a topical four-in-one gene therapy medicinal product (GTMP), consisting of a strain that produces fibroblast growth factor-2, interleukin-4, and colony-stimulating factor-1, is a promising novel treatment for DFU.

Objectives: The aim of this first-in-human study was to investigate whether AUP1602-C is safe and effective in improving wound healing and quality of life (QoL) in patients with non-healing DFU (nhDFU), and to determine the recommended phase II dose.

This study aimed to evaluate the potential of phytochemicals from two native UAE plant species, Arthrocnemum macrostachyum and Tamarix nilotica, as anti-cancer agents. The plant extracts were obtained using two methods, maceration, and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), and were subsequently evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxicity against three cancer cell lines: breast (MDA-MB-231), colon (HCT-116), and lung (A-549). Results suggest that: 1) MAE is more efficient than maceration in recovering metabolites from plant biomass based on measurements of total phenolic content, radical scavenging activity, and bioactivity of extracts based on in vitro cytotoxicity.
