The purpose of this study was to develop a technique to record physical references and orient digital mesh models to a natural head position using stereophotogrammetry (SP). The first step was to record the digital mesh model of a hanging reference board placed at the capturing position of the SP machine. The board was aligned to true vertical using a plumb bob. It also was aligned with a laser plane parallel to a hanging mirror, which was located at the center of the machine. The parameter derived from the digital mesh model of the board was used to adjust the roll, pitch, and yaw of the subsequent captures of patients' facial images. This information was valid until the next machine calibration. The board placement was repeatable, with standard deviations less than 0.1° for pitch and yaw angles and 0.15° for roll angles.

Imaging the entire cardiomyocyte network in entire small animal hearts at single cell resolution is a formidable challenge. Optical microscopy provides sufficient contrast and resolution in 2d, however fails to deliver non-destructive 3d reconstructions with isotropic resolution. It requires several invasive preparation steps, which introduce structural artefacts, namely dehydration, physical slicing and staining, or for the case of light sheet microscopy also clearing of the tissue.

Background: The prevalence of colorectal cancer (CRC) in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) is higher than in the general population, in Latin America there is a progressive increase of UC, and information about CRC screening in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is scarce. The aim of this study was to analyze the findings of endoscopic surveillance of CRC in patients with IBD according to available technology.
Methods: Multicenter, cross-sectional, analytical study conducted in Latin American countries, in patients with UC, predominantly with more than 8 years of diagnosis and different degrees of disease activity.

Objectives: The different scanning errors that can be caused by the operator handling an intraoral scanner (IOS) or the intraoral conditions of the patient being scanned have not been described. The purpose of this review was to describe and classify the scanning errors that can be identified in digital scans recorded by using IOSs.
Overview: The identification of scanning errors in an intraoral scan and understanding the cause of these scanning errors are fundamental procedures for successfully handling an IOS and integrating these digital data acquisition technologies in dental practices.

Bochdalek hernias (BHs), though rare, are the most common congenital diaphragmatic hernias. Their coexistence with an ectopic intrathoracic kidney (IK), found in 0.25% of cases, is even rarer.
