Patient portals are secure online platforms that offer patients access to various functions such as personal health information. While patient portals are being increasingly offered by health services, there are limited data on their use for persons living with home mechanical ventilation (HMV) and/or long-term tracheostomy. This study, conducted at an Australian hospital's home mechanical ventilation and long-term tracheostomy services, aimed to explore the perspectives and attitudes of patients and carers regarding the introduction of a patient portal.

The Instagram account (@Balance_ton_bar) highlighted the issue of sexual violence in Brussels nightlife sharing testimonials from victim-survivors. Set up in response to reports of drug-facilitated sexual assault at nightlife establishments, the account aimed to raise awareness and hold establishments accountable. This study examines these testimonials to explore how violence was perpetrated-through chemical drugging, alcohol use, isolation, and social power-the socio-emotional consequences for victim-survivors, and their journeys in seeking support.

Breast cancer cells sense shear stresses in response to interstitial fluid flow in bone and induce specific biological responses. Computational fluid dynamics models have been instrumental in estimating these shear stresses to relate the cell mechanoresponse to exact mechanical signals, better informing experiment design. Most computational models greatly simplify the experimental and cell mechanical environments for ease of computation, but these simplifications may overlook complex cell-substrate mechanical interactions that significantly change shear stresses experienced by cells.

Lactate-mediated lactylation on target proteins is recently identified as the novel posttranslational modification with profound biological functions. RNA 5-methylcytosine (mC) modification possesses dynamic and reversible nature, suggesting that activity of its methyltransferase NSUN2 is actively regulated. However, how NSUN2 activity is response to acidic condition in tumor microenvironment and then regulates cancer cell survival remain to be clarified.
