Purpose: The goal of this study was to describe computed tomographic findings in patients with clinically proven temporal bone (TB) osteoradionecrosis (ORN) (TB-ORN).
Materials And Methods: Computed tomographic scans of 20 patients were retrospectively evaluated for bony and soft tissue abnormalities. Clinical severity was graded based on level of therapy administered: mild (observation), moderate (antibiotics/hyperbaric oxygen), or severe (surgery).
Results: Radiation dose to the primary tumor ranged from 30 to 75.6 Gy. Time to onset of ORN from completion of radiation therapy was 2 to 22 years (median, 7 years).
Clinical Findings: exposed bone, 20 of the 20 patients; otorrhea, 17 of the 20 patients; hearing loss, 11 of the 20 patients; otalgia, 10 of the 20 patients; facial nerve paralysis, 2 of the 20 patients; gait imbalance, 2 of the 20 patients. Computed tomographic findings: external auditory canal erosions, 18 of the 20 patients; mastoid effusion, 18 of the 20 patients; mastoid bony coalescence, 5 of the 20 patients; enhancing soft tissue, 6 of the 20 patients; soft tissue gas, 6 of the 20 patients; temporomandibular joint/condylar erosion, 3 of the 20 patients.Three patients developed an abscess.
Conclusion: Mastoid effusion and external auditory canal erosions are commonly seen with TB-ORN. Clinically moderate or severe cases of TB-ORN are more likely to demonstrate enhancing soft tissue (P = 0.002), soft tissue gas (P = 0.002), and temporomandibular joint involvement (P = 0.07).

Background: Fibrosis of the connective tissue in the vaginal wall predominates in pelvic organ prolapse (POP), which is characterized by excessive fibroblast-to-myofibroblast differentiation and abnormal deposition of the extracellular matrix (ECM). Our study aimed to investigate the effect of ECM stiffness on vaginal fibroblasts and to explore the role of methyltransferase 3 (METTL3) in the development of POP.
Methods: Polyacrylamide hydrogels were applied to create an ECM microenvironment with variable stiffness to evaluate the effects of ECM stiffness on the proliferation, differentiation, and expression of ECM components in vaginal fibroblasts.

Background: Management of the extensive soft tissue injuries remains a significant challenge in orthopedic and plastic reconstructive surgery. Since the thumb is responsible for 40% of the functions of the hand, saving and reconstructing a mangled thumb is essential for the patient's future.
Case Presentation: This case report describes the management of a severe occupational thumb injury in a 25-year-old white Persian male who sustained an occupational injury to his left thumb, resulting in extensive burn, crush injury to the distal and proximal phalanx, and severe soft tissue damage to the first metacarpal, thenar, and palmar areas.

Background: Rex rabbit is famous for its silky and soft fur coat, a characteristic predominantly attributed to its hair follicles. Numerous studies have confirmed the crucial roles of mRNAs and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in regulating key cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and immunity. However, their involvement in the regulation of the hair cycle in Rex rabbits remains unknown.

Deep-learning models have shown promise in differentiating between benign and malignant lesions. Previous studies have primarily focused on specific anatomical regions, overlooking tumors occurring throughout the body with highly heterogeneous whole-body backgrounds. Using neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) as an example, this study developed highly accurate MRI-based deep-learning models for the early automated screening of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) against complex whole-body background.

To investigate the clinicopathological and genetic features of infantile rhabdomyofibrosarcoma (IRFS) with EGFR kinase domain duplication (EGFR-KDD). The clinical, morphological and immunohistochemical features of three IRFS with EGFR-KDD diagnosed from January 2022 to January 2024 at Department of Pathology, Foshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Foshan, China were retrospectively analyzed using PCR or next generation sequencing technique; and related literature was reviewed. There were 1 male and 2 females, aged at presentation ranging from 1 to 4 years.
